Real reno: Texture & brass shine in Sydney apartment

Home to a young Sydney couple, this Drummoyne apartment underwent a makeover recently by the team at Integriti Projects in a process that took seven months. “The overall aim was to create more space and light and inject some Scandinavian style,” says Integriti Projects design coordinator Tiffany Booke, who has created a timeless monochromatic scheme that boasts plenty of gorgeous texture too.

“The clients have a preference for Scandinavian design so we referenced the early twentieth century to the 1950’s where the style first flourished in the Nordic countries,” says Tiffany.

Texture certainly reigns in the bathroom where a gorgeous white tile was specified. “In the bathroom, the couple requested textured, minimalist and easy to clean tiles,” says Tiffany. This is a look that is echoed in the kitchen and both wet areas feature brushed brass tapware – a look that Tiffany believes is here to stay. “Surprisingly timeless, brushed brass tapware has proven that it is no longer a trend. Given it has been years since its introduction, it is now 2018 and here to stay like our loyal chrome and matt black finishes.”

“Another design feature I’d like to point out are the clean white walls which are perfect for creating a light and airy Scandinavian style. They are complemented by natural textures and contrasting timbers and black tones too,” says Tiffany.

Integriti Projects used its joinery expertise to increase storage throughout – something that apartments are often lacking. “The bedrooms in particular which now feature floor to ceiling, wall to wall joinery,” says Tiffany.

“As per our clients’ brief, many wall openings were created throughout the house which I think is one very important way to achieve the light and space that was needed in the home. Something like this will change your life from feeling like the winter blues are around all year long, to feeling relaxed, healthy and clear minded!”

It’s a very tasteful renovation. Especially the bathroom and kitchen is my favorite. Combining Minimalist white tiles with brass tapware has created a spectacular view.
I think the user will move this beauty to the top with the right towel selection.
Simply wonderful…
