Stylish new development in the heart of Melbourne’s Armadale

To celebrate the launch of Armadale’s exclusive new Toorak Park development, I was invited along to see the display suite and enjoy a day out shopping and discovering the suburb. Tough job, eh? Toorak Park sits on a 2.5 hectare site which will be transformed into a luxury residential precinct of four leafy quarters, comprising 448 luxury apartments and 18 townhouses. Residents and the local community will have access to a blue stone plaza featuring a convenience store and cafe, as well as the central boulevard, two village greens and public gardens.

I didn’t quite know what to expect but when you combine the experience of Lend Lease, Carr Design Group, Denton Corker Marshall and Tract you expect big things. Boy, do they deliver! These designers have honestly thought of everything, from butler’s pantries, double vanities and insane amounts of storage (enough to keep even The Block’s Shaynna Blaze happy, I think!). From what I saw in the display suite, there is nothing but the highest quality in design and finishes. It is definitely not one of those quick knock up jobs, with units not expected for completion until 2018.

Armadale is a haven for executives and families wanting to live close to the city and in my opinion, you can’t be the location of Toorak Park. Within reach of Melbourne’s most exclusive schools, Chapel Street and high street shopping precincts, Hawksburn village, it’s even walking distance to Toorak train station and tram lines. During my exploring I found some jaw dropping historic mansions as well as more modest period homes and stunning renovated terraces.

I started my morning walking along Beatty Avenue, checking out some super cute boutiques and cafes and headed towards High Street. The main strip is packed with stores! Everything from cafes, art galleries, antiques and furniture to homewares and fashion.

Above are some of my purchases (clockwise from top left); Basic Regular Tray, Baby Basic Pot and Big Basic Pot from The Melbourne Gift Registry and fresh flowers from Thomas Dux.

After tracing up and down the streets of Armadale, I enjoyed a nice lunch and a well needed foot massage, and ended up purchasing some homewares. Would you expect any less? All in all, a great day out in Armadale and a suburb I’ll definitely be visiting more often!

The Toorak Park display suite opens this weekend at 590 Orrong Road Armadale. Works have commenced on site with the project due for completion in late 2018. Interested buyers can register their interest online now or contact Mark Daymon on 1300 133 015.

Disclosure: I received a $500 gift card from Lend Lease and Keep Left PR to spend the day in Armadale and see what the suburb had to offer. I paid for anything over and above the $500. This is an honest review and positive coverage was not guaranteed.
