As good as real timber?

Yes of course we’d all love real timber floors but not everyone can afford them and is carpet the best alternative? Hmmm… not a fan here! Check out this laminate floor from Quick Step, which has a new range based on Australian Hardwoods. The one pictured, from the Colonial Collection, is inspired by the Spotted Gum. I think it looks rather nice. Better than carpet, for sure. How about you? Convinced or hate the idea of laminate?

Quick Step is the first European flooring company to develop a range of Australian timber inspired products. The printed designs on each floor board are rich in colour and feature nuances of the pattern from the actual hardwood. The Spotted Gum, Sydney Blue Gum, Jarrah, Walnut and Blackbutt make up the five shades in the collection. During June and July you can get 15 percent off the entire collection.

One reply on “As good as real timber?”

I absolutely love this floor. I have first seen it at the Designex-stand of Quick-Step in Sydney last month. It looks éxactly like the real thing, just stunning. Laminate has come a long way since the early days. Stay away from cheap Chinese imports though if you are looking for a beautiful and long-lasting floor. Nice picture Jen!
