If, like me, you haven’t started your Christmas gift shopping yet, you’re probably feeling a bit anxious by now. Especially when you hear people saying things like “I’ve almost bought ALL my presents already” when it’s only NOVEMBER (hate those organised people). So I thought I’d put together some great ideas for homewares-type gifts which can all be bought online from Australian sites. You don’t even need to leave your house! What’s not to like?
I’m starting off today with a favourite little site of mine, Brown Paper Packages. Owner Amanda Calcott has a great gift (pardon the pun) for collecting gorgeous treasures from around the globe so you don’t have to. Here are my picks…
1. The felt ball rug in sea blues ($300) is perfect for a little boy’s bedroom or even a grown up’s room. The rainbow-coloured ones have been available at a few places for a while now and they’re really popular, but this blue version is a bit different.
2. The love bug paper cut print by Famille Summerbelle ($80) is printed in France and would be the perfect romantic gift for a wife/girlfriend or just a lovely present for a grown up girl. I know I’d like it!
3. Men often don’t understand women’s fascination with cushions but they might just like this cool kombi van one ($60) from Berlin. Equally, it would look great in a little boy’s bedroom.
4. This yellow cushion needs little talking up. You can never have too many cushions or indeed too many pops of sunny yellow and it’s only $60 so just buy it already, ok? There are many other cushions available in different colours and patterns too.
5. Last but not least is this silver Moroccan pouffe ($200) which I happen to own myself. A gorgeous present for a friend or just an extra seat for Christmas Day which goes with everything AND looks festive. BPP has it in every colour under the sun too. I dare you to stop at one!
