Maria Misailidis wins the Interiors Addict 1,000th post giveaway!

Congratulations to Maria Misailidis, who has won my 1,000th post giveaway and gets all of these amazing prizes worth around $2,000!

The judges, interior designer Darren Palmer and Belle magazine’s interior design editor Steve Cordony, both picked her as the best entry. Her answer to the question “why do you love decorating and styling your home?” was as follows:

Decorating and styling my space feels like breathing clean oxygen in my lungs! It expresses my views, my comforts my internal fibre. It’s something that I connect with more than anything else (other than my family and people in general – I mean for something that I actually DO).

It’s the thing that keeps me up at 1am when I just can’t fall asleep because thoughts like “should I go White Duck quarter strength or Lexicon?” and “That cushion needs to be a watermelon or aqua for a pop of colour in that corner” consume me. I then dream about it, wake up thinking about it again and torment myself all day long until the afternoon when I have finally decided on a citrine cushion and the walls should be Whisper White instead!

The torment is of such pleasure though, and I love that I am in control of such creative decisions and can execute them any way I like, because after all it is my space and there are no rules here, just style and substance and all things that make sense to me and my family – its who we are and it celebrates how we live.
