Newlyweds take over at Lakota Trading

Vintage and used furniture emporium Lakota Trading embarked on a new beginning last month as Alexandra Cornish handed over the keys to longtime customers Jen and Kash Ziaei.

The newlyweds fell so deeply for the store’s vintage charms and covetable collectibles that when the opportunity arose for them to buy it, they didn’t hesitate. With their love for vintage furniture and an eye for scouring markets, they are about to begin an exciting new chapter in their lives.

Jen, who has left a career creating big ticket events, is the new keen eye, able barista and smiling face of Lakota Trading, excited by her new life of helping customers find cherishable pieces of furniture which they will love and enjoy for years to come. Scouring for these pieces is her forte.

Kash, meanwhile, will continue to focus on his job in the city and support Jen behind the scenes, but will be helping around the shop most weekends. He will also be getting his hands dirty restoring and recycling antique furniture and objects.

Under its new owners, Lakota Trading hopes to continue to carve out a niche as one of Sydney’s finest vintage, used and upcycled furniture, homewares and objects stores. The website and Facebook page will be updated weekly with Jen’s latest finds. The store is open from Wednesday through to Sunday. Stylists are welcome to borrow props for photoshoots. The venue also offers a versatile space for small events.
