WIN two industrial bedside tables!

Love the industrial look? Then two of these bedsides could be the perfect thing to add the finishing touches to your bedroom!

Thanks to Milan Direct, I have two to give away to celebrate the launch of its brand new industrial inspired range of furniture and homewares.

Timeworn, but embracing a vibrant 21st century palette, The Industrial Collection lets you juxtapose the old with the new, the raw with the ornate, to inject colour, texture and character to any room. I’m not keen on replica so it’s nice to see Milan Direct doing something a bit different and I am pleasantly surprised by this  range and its pricing. A few of the pieces are really impressive.

I’d expect the Joen Max ottoman, the Hemingway iron stool, the Marine Nautical Signal Light floor lamp, the L’usine vintage 4-drawer trunk and the American flag cushion to be popular. Love to know what you think!

With almost 50 pieces, the collection claims to be the largest range of industrial inspired pieces in Australia, all designed and manufactured by Milan Direct. Available to browse and buy online, now.

WIN

To be in with a chance of winning two industrial bedsides, worth $225 each, delivered straight to your door, simply comment below with your answer to the following question: why do you love the trend for industrial furniture and homewares?

I love that its different,,and a lot more creative that other furniture options, and is edgy. Also love blending it with more modern peices, to individualise it further.

I love the trend, because it adds bold, edgy character to a space. You can mix these industrial inspired pieces with just about anything, but I like the idea of letting the piece be the focal point of the room and having a real paired back feel to the space. Adding some simple lighting and a stack of vintage books to these bedsides would look FAB!

I love industrial design as it allows you to bring that utilitarian element into the home, with it, bringing a sense of function over form which can juxtapose effectively against the decorative in a variety of settings.

I have always loved the industrial look so now it wonderful to see so many other people enjoying it. I love the raw-ness of it. I like the story of strange, obsolete objects being put to other uses. Combining it with softer more elaborate furniture and soft furnishings is my eclectic dream come true!!

I love the Industrial look in furniture and home wares because it’s hard to get wrong! The only limitation is your imagination. It also brings an element of history to the space that invokes thought about “who used this before? what was it used for? how did it come to end up here?”. It’s fun to guess and it creates a mysticism and intrigued about the piece.

I Love that industrial furniture and home wares gives an eccentric appeal to a home, You can have 1 industrial piece and it always be the talking point of the room and to be honest generic furniture is just so boring, i’d much rather live outside of the norm.

I love industrial furniture and homewards. Each piece has personality that adds meaning and depth to great interiors. These pieces can be the feature or add to a feature, either way they will stand the test of time and trends.

Because it’s versatile, doesn’t take itself too seriously, and can cope with a battering (from kids), just adds to the industrial look!

This trend is very creative and that little bit different which makes it stand out of the crowd. It turns my head and makes me analyse and think as well as making me smile.

It gives a layered history to a room.
The rust, dents, gnarls and notches. Can balance a feminine room and humble a modern one.
These pieces are tactile and enduring.

I am loving the old vintage rustic look. I I want my house to look like a step back into the 1940’s!

This trend encourages people to reuse and re-purpose industrial items in their home. It adds instant character and excitement to a room.

There is something raw and almost clean and efficient about industrial furniture. Its an interesting cross between residential and factory.

I love the industrial trend as it is simple and understated, yet also has a strong individual element to it. Unlike other trends the industrial look can be much more creative in its execution there means the look, feel and materials used to achieve it can be vastly different.

I love the mix of old and new, I love the mix of vintage and industrial. It creates unique places within which to reside and as I would love a New York Loft Flat but live in Australia so the industrial furniture lets me live out that fantasy but reside in the sun, Happy Days x

I love the spaciousness, the functional yet stand-out elements of industrial trend and homewares. I love it so much that I am living in a warehouse conversion apartment.

Because its simple yet edgy and difficult to get wrong. Industrial fits in with most other styles, from country through to Ikea, just by contrast which is great as it almost makes my design skills look like I know what I’m doing!

I love the trend towards industrial furniture and homewares because, as a decorator, it gives you extra elements to work with. Combining the edginess of a piece of industrial furniture or lighting with other classic or contemporary features of the room to create a harmonious blend would be a wonderful challenge for me.

I love the trend towards industrial furniture and homewares, they are unique quality products that have that dark sexy appeal to them, they are the kind of things I would expect to see in a bedroom or home owned by Christian Grey of 50 shades of Grey just downright sexy and myserious

This trend really appeals to me as it introduces a uniqueness and authenticity to produced pieces. Owning one or two of these industrial pieces and displaying in your home can change the whole tone of your furniture.

Industrial furniture adds depth to a room, you can quite easily work an industrial piece into any room in the house If you choose carefully! Adding a trio of low strung industrial lights over a modern dining table will definitely give your guests something to talk about over dinner!

love the industrial furniture pieces that are available as they are so unique and yet combine well with my decor and lifestyle.

Because even thought the industrial look is ‘on trend’ at the moment, the beauty of it is that is never ages-in fact, done right you could utilise a beautiful industrial piece into almost any interior. I also am not too keen on replicas so a unique piece is a winner in my book-love it!

I may not know physics or how to fly a plane nor ride a penny-farthing but I do know that I love the trend for industrial furniture and home wares. Who doesn’t love a new item/piece of furniture that is the ultimate talking point. Industrial pieces seem simple yet stand out from the crowd. What’s not to love?

The industrial furniture trend is rustic and simple yet can create a dramatic impact on a space. It’s also husband proof! Child proof! And pet proof! Win win!

I love industrial because it can be intergrated into most styles and trends, just one or two pieces can make your space as individual and savvy as yourself and let’s face it , most people can’t afford to completely change their decor and industrial can do it for the budget concious and look like your room just stepped out of a vogue magazine.

I love the Industrial style as it’s that unfinished look, using raw and pretty rough surfaces. I like it best when blended with minimalism to get that feel for an open spacious, yet edgy loft/warehouse type of vibe…

Well what’s not to Love !! What a wonderful addition to a room I have been collecting pieces for the last 23 years some very old antiques and then mix it in with something ultra modern and then throw in some retro and now some industrial and what a wonderful story your home could tell …

I love the industrial trend because it provides a great contrast against a contemporary background. A few well chosen pieces can transform a tired interior and add instant impact.

i love the way industrial designed furniture adds a masculine, raw and rustic type element to my otherwise feminine aesthetic. I love combining beautiful fresh flowers, light whites and fluffy cushions with a gorgeous industrial piece!

Being a country person we do like to make things out of old material but these are amazing and would look awesome in our bedroom with our old family heir loom bed over 150 year’s old.A lot more imaginative than the boring old usual furniture. Love these item’s.

Its functional and I like the “work in progress” look.
Means I dont have to clean up after my daughter every five minutes.

There’s a hardworking, but careless quality about industrial style that resonates with people because it celebrates humble materials and it can be as affordable as you need it to be.

I like how it is generally unassuming yet comfortable in its own skin but still ultra modern

I love the industrial look because it keeps my boyfriend happy! It means I can have pieces with great design that I love that suit his taste also. Industrial style is our happy compromise.

Hi Jen, WOW. This is amazing news. Thank you. I have been lusting after these bedsides since their release. I suspect my boyfriend will claim for many, many, many years to come that he is the only reason I won! Thanks again. Trina

The industrial look can be effortlessly combined with any pop of colour to provide stunning and unique designs.

the chic gritty style adds a modern twist to the interior space. I could see them used in loungeroom, or even freshly styled into a kids room

What I love about the industrial look in furnishings is that it follows the principle of “form follows function” I personally love deck and collect japenese furniture, the clean lines, natural materials appeal to me, whether its been in decorating and renovating my own 100 year old home, with recycled steel, timber and copper finishes. Or for my clients, the industrial look appeals to me as a male for its raw & heavy look.

I love that industrial pieces are easy to work with in a room, functional and won’t date. I like how recycled and reused industrial furniture has a bit of history with it but even if you buy it new from the store, it still has the same feel of being worn and just that little bit imperfect which i find unique. I also love that it can be mixed with modern furniture to create a space with lots of character and originality rather than just sticking to the one style of decorating.

In a world that is so ‘over-thought’ it can become somewhat sterile. Industrial elements bring some history, a story and some personality which makes for great conversation whether it’s in a commercial or residential setting. It envokes a dialogue and I love that!

It gives interesting dimension to your home, a talking piece for your visitors as well as outlasting a lot of the standard modern furniture available at the moment.

I am obsessed! I have been looking into warehouses I can convert into an industrial styled loft apartmnet. It is effortless and masculine but very stylish at the same time.

It is unlike anything that has been seeen before, it isn’t a trend which has been rehashed

I love the trend for industrial furniture and homewares because it means the meeting of two different worlds. So interesting watching the grittiness of industrial elements try and settle in the warmth of our interior spaces, I think some very interesting effects can be created that challenge the way we think of our home space.

Edgy, natural, Environment, sustainability, reuse, recycle. These are the reasons on why “I LOVE” industrial furniture. But the pieces of furniture “I love” the most are those that combine ruff recycled timbers, trimmed with steel and screws.

As a real estate agent of over a decade. Most home furnishing and style has become very familiar/ similar to me and l think the buying public. The industrial look is giving owners a terrific opportunity to show their vision for how the property can be lived in. And the buyers are loving it.

Industrial furniture is a fantastic trend in homewares, with it’s chunky, masculine features providing a perfect foil against the minimalist starkness and feminine prettiness that have dominated much of the design scene for many years. Industrial furniture is edgy and chic and provides brilliant feature pieces that accentuate many decorating styles.

It makes such a fabulous change from so much anodyne furniture that seems to be everywhere and really some of the prices are not too bad. I love that its a talking point and of course looks great in the right setting.

I love the trend for industrial furniture and homewares because each piece tells a story, as if it has travelled its own journey – through a factory, a garage or garden shed – and evolved into something not only of functionality but also of character, uniqueness and beauty. From an interior stylist perspective, then, it creates a point of interest and discussion for all who enter the home. What was ‘once’, now ‘is’. Confucius says: “Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it”

love the trend because it’s real, raw, and so right in this over consumptive throw away western world .
it’s salvaging and re thinking re cycling re purposing remembering and reminding us of the need for a eco friendly world

Industrial: love it because it inspires strength, elegance and practicality. It is form + function = perfection: no excess, no frills, just pure lines to deliver a practical solution. No wimpy swirls or wasted twirls. Honest. Pure. Design. Classic.

I love the history and character industrial furniture brings to a room creating a interest and talking point.

They make me feel like I’m living in a post apocalyptic zombie apocalypse. Too bad all I’ll keep in their are a bunch of ghost stories.

In a world full of technology I crave the raw urban look and feel in design, tactile beauty, a design treasure for all time.

It can work to complement a raw warehouse conversion or contrast a sleek minimal interior. It can serve as the intricate historical starting point for all manner of eclectic styling. And sometimes, if you are lucky, and find the right piece, its just plain yummy!

At times I really don’t want my feminine touch to overwhelm a space so I love mixing it up and adding some industrial raw furniture which gives the space the right amount of masculinity required to balance out the room.

I love the industrial furniture and homewares trend for its simple design yet effective uniqueness that makes it a talking point whenever you have guests over!

I love that it looks like you swiped the pieces from an old factory. Great conversation starter!

I grew up on a farm but now live in the city. I miss the country life, but industrial homewares and furniture adds a little of my yesteryear to my today.

Our son has severe allergies to household dust and dust mites so the industrial look has been a necessity for us. We have a combination of polished timber and polished cement floors, blinds in place of curtains and lots of timber and metal furniture.

I love the industrial style it’s a timeless effect adding so much potential to any space. Also love how each piece is so unique and different.
