Designer knobs at everyday prices for those little touches that make all the difference

Zakkia is a new Australian online store that’s a bit like a lolly shop for door knobs and drawer handles. Being that I’ve changed all the knobs on the built-ins in my apartment, I think it’s a great idea.

“We believe that details make all the difference in a home, whether it is to give new life to an old piece of furniture or just spice up a tired kitchen,” said founder Sara Lundgren. “It is funny how little things quickly become a loved piece of who you are; a set of shiny raspberry knobs that make you smile every time you pass your dressing table, a big block of vanilla scented bathroom soap that reminds you of your childhood, drinking your morning coffee out of your favourite mug engraved with a quirky quote, or displaying a fresh bunch of pale pink roses in a new, sparkly vase. They are all part of your home, and living in a beautiful home makes you happy.”

Swedish design junkie Sara, made Sydney home in 2008 and often found herself ordering homewares from overseas stores.  “Being the impatient person I am, having to wait weeks for my purchases to arrive and spending money on expensive shipping quickly became unbearable. Out of this frustration and my love for homewares of course, Zakkia was born.”

Zakkia stocks a large variety of glass, ceramic and wooden knobs starting from $6.90 each. I think the ceramic ones are particularly colourful and pretty.

Such a great idea. I spent hours hunting for the perfect ceramic knobs for a vintage set of drawers only to end up completely dissatisfied and stuck with the old wooden ones. Zakkia is much needed here in Oz!

Thank you Alana, I’m glad you like our concept! And I was just as frustrated as you, could never find the knobs I wanted so always ended up ordering from overseas, which is expensive and takes time!
