I’m really bad at asking for help. Always have been. So when it comes to my wedding, and with all my bridesmaids overseas, it’s been a little tricky. I mean, you can’t ask non-wedding party friends to help. That’s just AWKWARD.
So I’m very grateful for friends who have offered their help (because that’s ok) and got all kinds of excited for me. And then there are the people, pretty much strangers, who have offered their help too, which is almost even more amazing. My future mother-in-law has been fantastic and one of the most excited people about our big day. Not having my own mum anymore and having no bridesmaids here to call on has left me feeling a little sad and lost at times, so I’m very grateful for her advice and enthusiasm.
To those of you have have got excited with me and made it ok to have your help, you know who you are and a big fat THANK YOU. I know when my friends start getting married I’ll be SO EXCITED I’ll be all over offering to help and I’ll enjoy it! And I’ll be returning any favours done for me.
PS. I’m still organising my own hens because the control freak in me sees having no bridesmaids in the country as a great excuse to organise exactly the hens I want.
PPS. Four months tomorrow and counting…

It must be hard having no bridesmaid close by Jen! I’m lucky enough to have two very wonderful, creative bridesmaids (and gfs) that have very similar taste to me, and I can’t imagine how I would get by without their help. That said, judging by your Pinterest boards (I was stalking for ideas the other day!) I’m sure it will be pure gorgeousness! xx
Ah it’s all so exciting and all the more special when you have people offer their help because they’re so happy for you! You know we’re here to help in anyway we can as well 🙂 ive been stalking your site and advice recently as bought our first house and totally gutting it! Big move this weekend and thanks to you I have had so much fun doing it!! So much harder though than I thought xx
