Pay someone else to put together your flatpack? Yes please!

I feel like I need to tell you about Airtasker, just in case you don’t already know about it! It’s a free online service that lets you outsource everyday tasks (like putting together your latest Ikea purchase or even collecting it if you don’t happen to have a big enough car/van) at a price you’re prepared to pay.

It’s that simple but SUCH a good idea. You log on, quickly create an account, post details of the task and how much you’re prepared to pay to get the job done and sit back and wait for the bids from ‘runners’.

If you’re worried about security and the thought of letting a random into your house (fair enough!), pick someone who has ‘Airtasker Pro’ status. This means they’ve gone through an in-depth application process which includes a video interview and showing their photo ID. You can also look at the reviews for people who bid (just like eBay) by people who they’ve already completed tasks for.

There are all kinds of things you could use Airtasker for, but in the interiors sphere, I’m thinking putting together and collecting furniture would be the best. Not to mention odd jobs around the house, cleaning, gardening, painting, you name it.

Equally, if you want to make a bit of extra cash from your handy skills or your van or trailer, you can sign up to be a runner.

Check out Airtasker today.
