The easiest way to bring fragrance into your home

Sponsored by Air Wick

We’d all love our homes to smell gorgeous (and I’d go as far to say fragrance is an important final layer of an interior) but diffusers, burners and air fresheners haven’t always been known for their good looks! And, if like me, you won’t have anything out on show unless it looks the part, this can mean they don’t have a place in your home. Oil burners and scented candles on the other hand, often look stylish, but aren’t the most practical option, especially with kids.

Air freshener never looked so good, right?!

Enter the new Air Wick Essential Mist, with its smart, compact, black design, which will sit unobtrusively on your shelf or coffee table. Good looks: tick! It diffuses fragrance infused with essential oils into the air for a few seconds automatically over an eight-hour period (you can choose one of three intensity levels) so it’s not wasted overnight. It’s pretty cool to watch. Check out the video below.

The unique technology produces a mist, carrying the scent through the air in a gentler way than other air fresheners. I’m loving waking up and walking into a room that smells so lovely and fresh without having to do anything! This has to be the easiest way to have fragrance infused with essential oils in your home all the time.

To get going, you simply open the unit, click in the bottle of fragrance, add three AA batteries, put the lid on and you’re good to go for up to 45 days. There are four fragrances to choose from; my favourite Peony & Jasmine, plus Fresh Water Breeze, Mandarin & Sweet Orange and Cinnamon & Crisp Apple (sounds perfect for the autumn months ahead!). Refills are available from Coles and Woolworths for just $8.

Unlike other diffusers, you don’t need to add water, which means no chance of spillage, plus: lazy! And because there are no cords, you can move it around the house with ease; in my case, to wherever the latest noxious nappy change has occurred, for example!

The Air Wick Essential Mist is half price at Woolworths until 13 March, saving you $15! Shop online.

New signature scent and hand sanitiser from Bondi Wash

If you’re anything like me, you love beautifully scented personal hygiene products, but cringe when you flip them over only to find Sodium Lauryl (or Laureth) Sulphate staring back at you amongst the rest of the dreadfully long list of dubious ingredients.

Luckily for us, Australian made and owned Bondi Wash is different. And they’ve released a new hand sanitiser (Jen’s tried it and it’s now a staple in Sebastian’s nursery for between nappy changes!) and signature scent just in time for the warmer seasons.

Feb 2015Available in Tasmanian Pepper & Lavender, Sydney Peppermint & Rosemary, and Lemon Tea Tree & Mandarin, the antibacterial hand spray kills 99.9% of germs and contains only a smidgen of alcohol. It’s not a gel (gel sanitisers can be pretty sticky and gross) and has a unique spray function, which means it can also be used on hard surfaces.

Soap Bar FSW 100_LoThe limited edition Fragonia & Sandalwood is an antibacterial bush oil with delicate floral notes, blended with oils such as ginger and patchouli for a calming, natural scent. It comes in a hand wash, mist spray and 100g mini soap bar.

These products not only smell great, but they’re also plant-based, non-toxic, biodegradable, free from nasty ingredients, and even come in décor-worthy bottles. Bondi Wash, you’re spoiling us.

Other products include a body wash, mist spray, bench spray and there’s even a range for dogs. Check them out online.
