Uniqwa Furniture is back and stronger than ever after floods

Having spent close to four years recovering from the 2011 Brisbane Floods, Uniqwa Furniture is back and stronger than ever!

Offering unique designer furniture with a strong focus on raw and natural materials, it was the years held back from expressing his passion that made Uniqwa Furniture creator, Charl van Heerden, determined to keep the brand alive.

With a strong but not predominant African flavour, Uniqwa Furniture is, as the name describes, uniqueness with a difference. All about simplicity and function, the pieces are organic, earthy and naturally modern. Born in South Africa, much of Charl’s inspiration originates from Africa, the stunning natural luxurious resorts and the tribal influences. “I am, and always have been, inspired by the culture that I grew up in. It is such a creative place where people use materials often overlooked to create the most amazing pieces of art. I have learned that there is the potential for beauty in everything around us, but it is the way we use it, the way we see it and the way we apply it that makes it beautiful.”

Uniqwa Furniture will be exhibiting at Decor & Design in Melbourne next year, a feat they have been attempting since being sidelined by the floods in 2011. But for wholesalers who cannot wait until then, you can check out their products online!
