Great sofas & interior design at Project 82

(L-R) Amanda Pocock, Shelley Mason and Emily Mayne

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Project 82 in Surry Hills. It’s in Fitzroy Street. Number 82, would you believe it?

I first met founder and interior designer Shelley Mason at a trade fair last year and loved her range. It seems business has come along in leaps and bounds since then with a healthy flow of customers, both trade and retail. I think one of the great things about the team is they’re as comfortable doing a large scale commercial fitout as somebody’s apartment (they’ll happily come round and help you) and their interior design service (the price of which can be credited towards any purchases) is making interior style accessible.

The showroom/shop stocks some of my favourite brands like Armadillo & Co and Zuster and has a wide range of beautiful furniture and homewares. The online store lets you shop by style and create virtual style boards and add items to a ‘quote cart’ and someone will call you with a price for your package within 48 hours. To make it even easier, for those who don’t have a clue where to start, they’ve also put together room packages of their popular products.

Another recent addition, helped along by Shelley’s furniture designer boyfriend Cameron Foggo, is a gorgeous, Australian designed and made (in less than six weeks!) sofa range called Staple & Co, at great prices (the Lennon below, in tan leather, is my favourite). They’re also moving into custom timber dining tables.

While their online store is comprehensive, it’s well worth a visit in person to their bricks and mortar, if only for the warm welcome and friendly and knowledgable service.

This is good to see Jen – I’ve been getting so cross at how expensive everything is here that I was thinking of buying from overseas. But this sofa is gorgeous and the price is unbelievable. I’ll be paying a visit to Surry Hills.

I think this blog is going from strength to strength – it’s so good to be shown what’s available, and I’m really happy to have a Sydney-centric blog at last! For so long it’s felt like only America and Melbourne exist on the blogging map and you’re changing that. Thank you.
