Illustrator Megan Hess branches into homewares with porcelain vase

Long time readers of this blog will know I’m a huge fan of Australian illustrator Megan Hess so I was very excited when she shared her first homewares piece – a fine porcelain vase – with me.

The limited edition piece features illustrations from her Black Feather collection on both sides and as it’s black and white, it’ll go with any interior colour scheme, or indeed flower choice!

I’ve always loved beautiful porcelain pieces and it’s been a dream of mine to create a special vase that incorporated my artwork,” says Megan, who drew the cover for the Sex and the City book and whose clients include Chanel, Dior and Cartier.

“I played with a lot of different designs and in the end I settled on the rectangular shape because it was almost like the perfect canvas to incorporate my Illustrations. I also thought it would be fun to have a different image on both sides so you can switch sides depending on your mood.”

The vase measures approximately 235mm high x 165mm wide x 80mm deep. $245 each and available exclusively from meganhess.com

Take the tour of Megan’s Port Melbourne converted church home.
