Jacinta Preston is hookd on her new online store

Sydney interior designer  Jacinta Preston and a former client, Tanya Dammerer, have joined forces to open “an online collection of good things”.

“hookd is quite simply a shop filled with things we’re hooked on. Some things are simple, others ridiculously luxe. There are limited editions, beautifully old things as well as the brand spanking new,” says Jacinta. “We wanted to share the good things we find with the people around us, the design clients, the friends, and the fellow makers. It’s a great opportunity to collaborate and explore the design world.”

It’s laid out more like a blog than an online store which makes for a unique online shopping experience. My favourite picks from the site are the Tom Dixon scented candles (been lusting over these for weeks and dropping hints left, right and centre), the practical yet chic Alice bags with changeable/removable straps, the organic mirrors (so many options!) and the floor standing turned leg candle sticks.

Papaya launches online store

Papaya is one of my favourite homewares stores in Mosman (they’re also at Bondi Junction) and they announced a new online store yesterday. It’s a great place to shop for beautiful, neutral, textural items for your home.

Check it out today! Papaya Online Store.

The Assembly Hall launches online store

The Assembly Hall has launched an online store and it’s full of rather lovely homewares, furniture art, lighting, bed & bath and more.

Already a bricks and mortar store in Williamstown VIC, owner Jess Bettenay’s treats are now available to people Australia wide. Brands include Bonnie & Neil, Kip & Co and Muuto and her choices prove she has her finger on the pulse of what’s on trend. The lighting collection is particularly impressive.

Everything begins with beautiful homewares from around the globe

Online store Everything Begins has been around for almost a year but intentionally keeping a pretty low profile. The “highly curated” site brings together beautiful things from independent creative types from across the globe.

Founder Amy Timbrell says: “I’ve always had a massive love of discovering and sharing gorgeous things and over time I seemed to have developed a bit of a knack for hunting things down. I’m bordering a bit obsessive in a way I guess.” She’s taking it very personally too, claiming everything on the site is something she would have herself, in her home or to wear. “That’s the measure test I guess. Would I have it in my home? Would I wear it?”

With less products, carefully chosen, Amy wants Everything Begins to be a destination: a place where people can go and know that without a doubt they will find something super special, for themselves or as a gift. “Some designers that have approached us have really great designs, but if they are not quite EB then we turn them down,” she adds. “It is all about quality of products over quantity, and most importantly, consistency in style.”

I heart (tasteful) Brit-inspired homewares

As a Pom I couldn’t go past new online store SE10 Gallery, could I? Founder Sam Cannell, who has collated a lovely range of homewares and gifts, says many Aussies have an affinity with the UK (at least when the cricket isn’t on). The product range is inspired by a passion for British design, a fascination with typography and an obsession with designer stationery. Um, excuse me, was it made for me?!

SE10 Gallery sources products from British and Australian designers and is already proving popular following its launch on Facebook less than a month ago. Sam says it’s often difficult to find stylish pieces that reflect modern British style. (There’s certainly more than enough Union Jack tat out there!) The new site aims to bring an interesting mix of products including prints, cushions, placemats, teatowels and typographic bags.

Products and brands available through SE10 Gallery include Keep Calm Gallery (a favourite of mine), Alphabet Bags, Raine and Humble, Creatively Active Minds, Messagemark and Elm Paper.

Having lived in London for over five years, Sam spent countless hours searching for stylish pieces that combined British influence with the Australian lifestyle. The product range quickly grew to incorporate her obsession with typography and beautiful stationery and will continue to evolve as the store grows.

We have a special giveaway for Interiors Addict readers! Want to win this lovely sequin Union Jack linen cushion (with inner)? Simply visit the Interiors Addict Facebook page and tell us why you want to win and where you’d put it! Enter by midnight on Sunday. Good luck!
