The capsule machine that makes tea, hot chocolate and cold drinks as well as coffee

Well, this one’s bound to upset the coffee purists and delight the tea and hot chocolate drinkers all at the same time! The Nescafé Dolce Gusto is the first ever machine available in Australia to make 14 different beverages, from hot frothy cappuccinos to chilled peach iced teas. Its multi-beverage capsule system is already hugely popular in more than 50 countries around the world.

DeLongi Dolce Gusto

It’s a partnership between Nestlé and De’Longhi. The sleek and easy-to-use machine (which kind of looks like a cute baby robot?) serves full-bodied coffee as well as iced coffees and teas with the touch of a button. Its 15-bar pressure pump (similar to the pressure used in cafe coffee machines) helps creates that crema layer.

“There are many in-home coffee machines around, but Nescafé Dolce Gusto is unique,” says Nestle’s Kais Marzouki. “What makes this machine different is that you can enjoy rich, full-bodied coffee in your own home as well as chai tea lattes, hot chocolates and chilled ice coffees. It will set a new standard in coffee machines.”

The 14 capsule varieties include Cappuccino, Americano, Ristretto, Hot Chocolate, Chai Tea Latte and NESTEA Ice Peach Tea.

It’s available from major retailers and online in four manual and automatic styles with an RRP ranging from $149 to $349. Nescafé Dolce Gusto capsules can be purchased from Coles, Woolworths and other major retailers as well as online.

Yay! A coffee machine for non-coffee drinkers. Sometimes, when I’m ordering my chai latte (at the latest funky cafe everyone is raving about, because I am addicted to trying the latest, funky cafes), I feel a little uncool alongside a bunch of caffeine fiends! This could be the solution – I’m imagining myself sipping my iced tea at home in my comfy trackies and daggy ugg boots! (Whilst sitting amongst the tonnes of technically unnecessary, but aesthetically beautiful cushions on my sofa!) 😉
