Kohler’s new, bold and modern tapware

Sometimes simplicity is best, with the new Stance tapware collection from Kohler a striking example of restraint and bold design.

Stance-Reve

The perfect statement for the contemporary bathroom, the single column with refined spout and joystick control is a beautiful example of the reworking of the classic elements of good design.

Featuring basin, bath and shower mixers plus a very contemporary, minimalist slide shower, the Stance collection has something for everyone. The basin mixers come in both a tall and standard size, in a hob and wall mount option. The bath mixers also offer the choice of hob or wall mount installation, both in perfect step with their basin counterparts. And the shower/bath mixers – with and without diverter – feature an elegant ‘touch me’ lever mounted on a polished chrome backplate, while the statement-making bath spouts are in wall mounted and hob mounted options.

The Stance basin mixers are all five-star WELS rated, using just six litres of water a minute, while the Stance shower carries the maximum three-star WELS rating using only nine litres of water a minute.

Kohler’s Stance collection of tapware and showers is available from retailers throughout Australia. Visit their website for details on local stockists.

Futurespace’s Gavin Harris wins Reece Bathroom Innovation Award 2012

Japanese inspired design and innovative use of technology won top honours in the Reece Bathroom Innovation Award, announced at Saturday in Design in Melbourne at the weekend.

Gavin Harris, a senior associate at futurespace, was awarded the Professional Prize of $20,000, with his Japanese inspired freestanding bath unit, Shiro. The judging panel applauded Harris’ clever incorporation of a basin and bath as one, use of a singular plumbing system, its freestanding qualities and suitability for stylish, modern homes and hotels.

ShanShan Wang, who is studying Industrial Design at the University of New South Wales, took the Student Prize, with Koeda, an innovative mixer tap inspired by the organic themes of nature and hand motions. The judges admired Wang’s innovative use of light to indicate water temperature, awarding Wang a $10,000 cash prize, along with $5,000 for her university.
