Would you like to be one of the first to see the Dulux Colour Forecast 2014 presented by Andrea Lucena-Orr and hear her interpretations of the latest colour trends as seen at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan? I have 10 double passes to give away to lucky readers.

This Design Institute of Australia (DIA) NSW branch event takes place tomorrow (Tuesday 10 September 2013) night from 6-8pm at The Whitehouse Institute of Design, level 5, 2 Short Street, Surry Hills.

For the third year running, the Design Institute of Australia Victoria/Tasmania Branch’s student and graduate body ED (Emerging Designers) is hosting Inside Nights from 26 to 29 August.

The unique opportunity allows design students and recent graduates to visit studios, meet practicing design professionals and gain valuable insight into their profession.

The DIA’s Spring Dinner is coming up on 2 November at The Establishment, Sydney. It’s open to members ($95) and non-members ($135) with three-course dinner, drinks and dancing, and tickets are available here.

The winners of the Australian Interior Design Awards 2012

The winners of the Australian Interior Design Awards were announced last night at Doltone House in Sydney’s Pyrmont.

The 2012 Premier Award for Interior Design Excellence and Innovation went to Billard Leece Partnership and Bates Smart for the Royal Children’s Hospital. A full list of winners can be found here.

The awards are run by a partnership of the Design Institute of Australia (DIA), designEX and ARTICHOKE Magazine.

Kate St James on design education, accreditation and joining the DIA

Kate St James is a well respected voice on the Australian interiors scene. A Fellow of the Design Institute of Australia, she worked as an interior designer for more than two decades before joining the world of design publishing. She is currently editor ofLuxury Home Design and Renovate and the soon to be launched Grand Designs Australia magazine.
