It’s available in a variety of on-trend colours including this gorgeous lilac shade. $59.

Bespoke Letterpress 2023 ‘day to a page’ linen bound planner: Featuring gold foil on the cover and in the book plate as well as gold gilded edges and three satin ribbon markers this diary is a rather luxe way to stay organised. $49.95.

Saint Belford Curation 2023 daily planner: This all-in-one diary blends everyday tasks with self-care, mindfulness, habits and goals. The brand’s mission is to create tools and resources that empower people to prioritise their wellbeing. $59.95.

Fox & Fallow Good Vibes 2023 planner: This of-the-moment diary features gold foil edges and a handy document pocket at the back as well as an astrology guide, a space to set your weekly intentions, a gratitude section and a place for monthly mantras. $44.95.

Starburst 2023 hardcover agenda: Along with the usual yearly, monthly and weekly spreads, this agenda features quote pages, yearly and monthly budget trackers and goal setting pages as well as a handy elastic book band enclosure. But mostly we love the fun front cover design. $49.95.

Amelia Lane life designer desktop daily planner (dahlia): At 1kg, this weighty planner is best suited to staying in the office rather than being carried around but it’s full or practical things like an hourly schedule from 6am-10pm, a long to-do list, a notes and vision board section as well as sections for meal tracking, budgeting and goals. $79.95.

Castle & Things 2023 diary: Designed by one of our faves, in collaboration with Write To Me, this linen printed hard cover planner features two ribbon markers, a monthly planner, week-to-week spread and planner sticker sheet. $49.95.

kikki.K Assembly daily diary A5 2023 rose quartz: Encased in a removable PVC jacket cover, this diary features all the usual suspects as well as some extras such as a page marker with space to set three goals for the year and a cute sticker selection. $49.99.

It’s hard to believe that it’s that time of year but diary buying is upon us, yet again! And while there’s nothing wrong with using your smartphone to organise your life, there’s something about the tactile allure of employing a pretty planner to do it for you. These are our top picks…

Blacklist 2019 linen diary, $44.95: Available in chambray and grey linen, this is one for the minimalists out there. The diary features a monthly overview, a week a spread layout, monthly title pages, side tabs and ribbon marker plus notes and contacts pages. I love the gold foil stamped typography contrasted against the linen on the front.

Blushing Confetti pink floral hard cover agenda 2019, $35: Featuring a shock of florals on the front (illustrated by Australian artist Cass Dellar) this fun diary covers 14 months (December 2018 – January 2020) and has rose gold foiled numbers and edges too.

Papier Tigre 2019 agenda diary notebook, $59.95: Covered in fabric, I love the vibrant diagonal print on the outside of this diary by Papier Tigre – a company founded in Paris. It features a 13 month date range (December 2018 – December 2019) and a fabulous contrast elastic strap.

Life Simplified Planner 2019, $29.95: These spiral bound planners feature a week to a spread in addition to a weekly meal planner, budget, grocery and to-do lists. There’s also a monthly planner and you can have one custom made with any name on the front, making them an ideal Christmas gift.

Milligram Studio 2018 Agenda diary (Allegro Artwork), $49.95: This collaboration with Sydney artist Evie O caught out eye. The format is very flexible and adaptable to each individual user as the diary features pages that can be used according to personal organisation styles, with the benefit of hints of colour, illustrated icons and stickers bringing vibrancy and attention to important dates and meetings.

kikki.K 2019 A5 bonded leather weekly diary in dusk blue, $39.95: A classic design from the Scandi-inspired stationery brand, this leather diary with gold foil detailing is available in charcoal grey and blush too.

Alice Pleasance 2019 agenda (rainbow), $39.95: Featuring bold colour-blocking, this hard cover diary contains a bookmark, elastic strap, and inspirational icons and sayings within.

Typo A5 2019 weekly ‘Buffalo’ diary, $16.99: A bargain price, this planner features printed artwork inside, a ribbon page marker, weekly layout and monthly reference calendars.

MiGoals 2019 limited edition ‘Goal Digger’ diary in coral, $44.95: This organiser has all the features to organise your life but it’s the slogan on the front that caught my eye. Fun!

Amelia Lane life designer, compact daily organiser in ‘Aqua Palms,’ $49.95: As its names suggests, this multi-tasking organiser is much more than a diary. Good looks aside it features daily meal and exercise tracking, monthly goals and habit tracker, a monthly budget overview plus bucket list and vision board.

Otto A5 week to view 2019 zippered diary (palm), $19.95: This diary boasts all the usual organisational suspects but I think the zip would be super handy for containing notes, receipts and any other life ephemera.

Emma Kate Co. 2018 Planner in Blush ($59)

Diary buying… my favourite time of year! I love my smartphone more than the next person, but there’s something about putting pen to paper I just can’t get pass. Plans just seem more exciting, more important when there in a beautiful, hard cover book. So let’s get shopping!

Blushing Confetti 2018 Green Floral Hard Cover Agenda ($39): Covering 14 months (Dec 17 – Jan 19), this diary will keep all your affairs in order; the bespoke floral detailing and rose gold foil are just a bonus! With a weekly page layout it won’t take up too much handbag space either.

Filofax The Original Organiser Patent in Nude ($159.95): Certainly the most exxy on the list, this diary combines old-school cool with uber organsiation. With an iconic design that harks back to the original 1921 Filofax look, it is crafted from thick leather and features a hidden spiral, a range of pockets and pen loops. Keep it forever, simply add paper or diary refills as you need. Available in three colours and two sizes.

One X OneTeaspoon for Blacklist 2018 Planner ($59.95): With a chambray fabric cover, gold foil stamped typography and an internal spiral, this diary is the brainchild of two of the country’s best design houses. It features a monthly overview, a weekly page layout, quote pages, side tabs, a back pocket, plus notes and contacts pages.

Typo 2018 A6 Weekly Buffalo Diary ($12.99): The ideal budget option, this A6 diary is black and white on the inside with a colourful cover. Featuring a weekly page layout, it comes in various styles and patterns.

Amelia Lane 2018 Compact Daily Planner Navy Palm ($49.95): Beautiful and practical, this diary has a ‘whole of life’ concept – helping organise your big picture goals, health and finances, as well as your schedule and to-do lists. With a page for each day it is available in a variety of sizes and styles.

kikki.K 2018 A5 Linen Weekly Diary: Sweet ($34.95): This pretty and functional diary features a hard cover wrapped in teal linen cloth, gold foil detailing and cream paper. Emma Kate Co. 2018 Planner in Blush ($59): This write your own adventure diary won’t force out daily goals nor squeeze your world into half-hourly increments. Rather it’s minimal and spacious with a weekly page layout and no time slots. Features include dot grid pages, for sketching, note taking or bullet journalling, three ribbon dividers and an expandable pocket. Available in three styles.

Kate Spade 2017-2018 17-Month Agenda Diary – The Life from Milligram ($64.95): A chic and stylish way to work through the next year (this diary spans from Aug 17 – Dec 18), it has a hard printed, concealed spiral cover and weekly page layout. It includes laminated month tabs, a gold foil sticker sheet, pages for notes and holidays, plus two plastic pockets. It is available in two sizes.

MiGOALS 2018 Soft Cover Diary in Navy ($29.95): Specifically designed to help you identify and meet your goals, this diary is peppered with messages to inspire, goal worksheets, review sections and weekly habit trackers to make positive changes. Featuring a weekly page layout, it is available as a hard cover and in a range of colours.

I am so excited to reveal to you an exciting collaboration that has been in the pipeline for months: Rainy Sunday’s 7 Vignettes Gather Journal. For the hundreds of you who take part in our monthly Instagram challenge, here’s somewhere gorgeous for you to keep all your styling inspiration together and you can buy it in time for Christmas (as a gift) or the January round of the competition (for yourself!).

The gather journals are the brainchild of Frith Hucks from Rainy Sunday and I leapt at the chance to get Interiors Addict involved. Rainy Sunday has evolved from a home enterprise making drinking jars (on a rainy Sunday) into a fully fledged homewares design business. Their products are often a modern take on old school ideas, so creating a series of journals with this in mind seemed quite natural.

“Having dabbled with the 7 Vignettes Instagram challenge myself, I realised how much thought and planning goes in to each theme,” Frith says. “Why not create a journal that both inspired and helped participants create their best vignettes each month for the challenge? Rather than just a journal with blank pages, the Gather Journal gives you the background to 7 Vignettes, fantastic tips from previous challenge winner Nikki Hernan (aka Brown Paper Lemon) to help improve your compositions and ideas on where you can get more inspiration. It’s not just a regular journal – it really is a place for gathering.”

From my point of view, the journal was a brilliant opportunity to showcase some of the work of one our very talented participants and blog readers, Nikki, who could not have been more excited to have her photos featured on its pages! “7 Vignettes gives you the freedom to be as expressive as you like, drawing from life experiences and connecting trinkets and heirlooms to tell tales and acknowledge loved ones,” Nikki says. “The old saying ‘A picture is worth a thousand words’ rings true within vignettes. Exhibiting not only inanimate objects but also the mood that the artist is feeling. My style has has been enriched by this learning process which I look forward to continuing to explore.”

The 7 Vignettes Gather Journal is the first in a series of journals Rainy Sunday will release next year including editions for green juices and flower arranging. “Hopefully there will be lots of feedback from this Gather Journal that we’ll use to help us enhance the design and inspiration we include in our next ones,” adds Frith.
