Beauty of home inspires print collection by photographer Christie Moore

Travel and lifestyle photographer Christie Moore, has launched a new print collection after returning from living overseas. The photographic prints came to life quite organically after returning to Sydney from Paris.

Christie spent blissful sun-kissed afternoons strolling along the Bondi to Tamarama coastal walk where she began seeing her hometown coastline through a whole new lens. “I experienced a new-found connection to my city and wanted to represent the connection of people to places in a tangible way,” she says.

“What sets this collection apart is that it was curated with fellow travellers and adventure seekers in mind. Focusing on storytelling, connection and adventure, each piece is a tangible dose of ‘vitamin sea’ and encapsulates the Sydney lifestyle loved by locals, expats and tourists alike. A limited edition momento for those who want their spaces to tell their story.”

Christie grew up in Forster on the NSW mid-north coast and moved to Sydney in her teenage years, always maintaining a strong connection to the sea.

Available in four sizes, Christie’s works are printed with archival inks on 310gsm matt rag paper stock with a white border. The limited editions are hand signed and numbered with free shipping Australia wide. Prices start at $139.

Win your favourite from Alisa & Lysandra’s exclusive art range

Sponsored by United Artworks

When Alisa and Lysandra Fraser first popped onto our screens some two years ago I was well and truly in my Block obsession prime. I loved everything about the show and everything about the twins (especially their sassiness!). In fact the level of enthusiasm was so high that when I visited their series of The Block there was some real real emotion. Not tears, but very watery eyes.

HERO IMAGE (Partially Correct & Pastel Skies)_LANDSCAPE

Now, a few years on, I can say I’m older, wiser and less emotionally invested in reality TV. However, they still hold a special place in my heart. So when I heard about their latest venture, an exclusive artwork range in partnership with United Artworks, I was very excited.

Hear what the twins have to say about it…

RESTINGPLACES_LANDSCAPE

Designed and produced in Australia, the range features both graphic and photographic designs, inspired by the grandeur and abundance of nature. “This collection is moody, raw and very ethereal,” explains Alisa. “It features a series of visually powerful prints that create aesthetic polarities and perfectly balance masculine and feminine tones and textures through the colour palette of nature.”

With the range representative of Alisa and Lysandra’s styling, the twins were keen to create an artwork collection, believing art to be a vital component to all interiors. “As interior designers we know that our projects become complete when all the finishing touches are in place and this includes artwork, which can deliver enormous emotional power in a space more than homewares or other accessories,” says Lysandra. “We have always wanted to create a collection that will compliment our design style, our colour forecasts and a collection that matches the tone of our work.”

FAMILY TREE 2_LANDSCAPE

With the artworks available for purchase from today, the sisters have already started brainstorming about future collections. “We are very excited about this collection with United Artworks,” explains Alisa. “They understand our vision and our design philosophy, which is really important in translating our ideas into physical artworks. Also, we’re one step ahead and already collating ideas for subsequent collections that we know our audience will love!”

Beautiful and ethically sourced rugs from Argentina

A collaboration between two photographers — one from Argentina, the other from Australia — Pampa represents the coming-together of two worlds, two visions and two cultures.

PAMPA HOUSE (9)

Specialising in handwoven rugs, fine art photography prints and this year the introduction of two lines of handwoven cushions, Pampa ethically sources their products from Argentina.

PAMPA HOUSE (27)

Most proud of their handwoven rug collection, each and every rug is a one-off piece, handpicked from the indigenous community where it was designed and woven. The techniques used to make the rugs are part of the fabric of Argentinian tradition, heritage and ancient knowledge.

Using patterns and designs passed down through the generations and inspired by nature, the rugs are woven on traditional looms in a process that can take more than six weeks. Once off the loom, the rugs are finished by joining two woven panels with a central seam.

Believing in a world of ethically made and fair trade products, Pampa deals directly with their artisans. Paying a fair price for their products helps guarantee the weavers receive the working wages they deserve. Profits from the pieces are used by Pampa’s artisans and their families to cover day-to-day living costs such as buying food and clothing, paying school expenses, accessing medical care and sourcing new tools and materials for weaving.

Pampa rugs, cushions and fine-art prints are available from select stockists around Australia and internationally. Customers can also buy directly through Pampa’s online store.
