Sage x Clare’s new range has 1970’s American folk vibe

With 1970’s inspired hues seemingly everywhere at present (I’ve noticed a lot of rust, terracotta, khaki and mustard adorning the fashion racks!), Sage x Clare’s latest collection ‘Terra’ is rather on point. “The collection has a distinct not to the 70’s and merges American folk influences and retro florals with earthy hues and delicate embellishments,” says Sage x Clare’s founder and director Phoebe Bell.

“We were inspired by the raw beauty of the American desert and the fabulous self-expression of the 70’s to bring a collection that has a feel-good and carefree vibe,” says Phoebe. And that it does. There’s plenty of retro floral prints paired with checks and fringing across bed linen, bath mats, cushions, blankets, throws, wall hangings and rugs.

And as for the palette, it’s a glorious mix of mustard, peach, lilac and baby blue. “The new season colour palette was inspired by the burnt hues and vibrant skies of the desert and its ever-changing landscape. You’ll find earthy tones and highlights of soft pinks, blues and greens to bring a collection that is both easy to live with but includes dynamic pops of vibrancy and happiness,” says Phoebe.

Bedlinen and cushions aside, the fabulous new wall hangings really conjure the free-love vibe while making a big statement in the room. “My favourite pieces include the Hayfolk bedlinen, Borrego wall hanging and Juno Beni rug. I love the retro vibe of each of these pieces along with the textural quality and warmth that they bring to a home,” says Phoebe.

And as for the most popular parts of the range you better get in quick if you’re after one of the brand’s coveted bath mats and the new Nopah tufted blanket and Inyo round cushions are selling fast too. “They are crowd favourites alongside the new bedlinen prints Hayfolk and Cady,” says Phoebe.

Phoebe is is also excited to add sleepwear to the range this season – with two prints available you can literally match your sheets! “The linen blend hand printed PJ’s are so cosy and fab for winter. They’ll be difficult to take off, so we’ll be wearing our PJ shirts with a classic pair of jeans!
