Artist Grotti Lotti (aka Casey Manson), whose unique painting style has an amazing way of capturing the beauty of nature, has launched an exciting collection in partnership with Australian homewares brand, Linen House. They hope the linen will free the mind and re-energise your sleeping space!
The Linen House x Grotti Lotti collection features three incredible pieces of work from Grotti Lotti, available to purchase as quilt cover sets and European pillowcases, as well as feature cushions. My Energy Is My Currency, Just Start Somewhere and Blow It Up, follow Casey’s signature loose and colourful contemporary style. The designs have been selected from Casey’s painted artwork and are digitally printed on a silky soft cotton sateen with a plain dyed reverse.
Casey’s first piece from the Linen House collection was My Energy Is My Currency, a thoughtful, earthy and relaxing piece. “I became completely immersed in this piece – based on some dried protea flowers in the studio I nicked from my mum’s block. The title is based on the notion that energy is interchangeable; it’s not always about the final product but the energy that goes into the piece that gives it life and captivates others. I love the thoughtful, earthy but relaxed nature of this piece. It has its own energy and synchronicity.”
My Energy is my Currency
Bright, loose and fresh, Just Start Somewhere includes her favourite colours and is centred around native blooms. The piece’s deep, earthy greens highlight her feelings of zen when in amongst nature.
Just Start Somewhere
Blow It Up, is an abstract of Casey’s own heart and mind with thick brushstrokes and pops of colour. Created after a small break, Casey put brush to canvas, allowing herself to create without rules or expectations.
Blow It Up
Casey said: “I’m so excited to have worked with Linen House on this bespoke collection. It has long been a dream of mine to create textiles from my work and Linen House have been the perfect team to work alongside to bring this dream to life. I am beyond proud of this collection, from my home studio to your homes, I hope you love them!”.
The collection is available now, exclusive to Linen House and Myer.

With summer on its way, two fabulous new bedding ranges have landed, both inspired by Australia’s unique and beautiful landscape. And while the ranges feature very different aesthetics, they both celebrate the beauty of this great land.
Kip&Co x Ken Done
This collaboration is such a perfect alignment that I’m surprised it hasn’t happened before now. With their love of bright colours and clashing prints, it’s fitting to see Kip&Co collaborate with Australian icon Ken Done for their latest collection.“I think the shared stuff between us, and Kip&Co, is the love of colour, the love of decoration, the love sometimes of putting two kinds of patterns together to make something else,” says Ken Done of the collaboration.
With Ken’s art epitomising Australia and its luminous, vibrant colours as well as bright sunlight and ocean vistas, the bedding range showcases his signature enthusiasm for colour. Some of our most iconic subject matter features including the Great Barrier Reef, yachts on Sydney Harbour, sunbathers on the beach and plenty of flora and fauna. For many of us, the collection is a nostalgic trip down memory lane.
“When we grew up in the 80s, Ken’s art leapt off the walls and into our day-to-day lives, providing an incandescent backdrop to our most nostalgic, treasured childhood memories. This was the time when a Ken Done coaster set, t-shirt, or print became as ubiquitous with the Aussie home as the hills hoists that punctuated our back yards. We soaked it all in. His unabashed optimism and signature enthusiasm for colour has undoubtedly been one of our biggest influences,” says Kip&Co.’s Kate Kate Heppell.
The partnership that has been almost ten years in the making with Ken number one on the brand’s dream list of collaborators.
Greenhouse Interiors ‘Golden’ collection
By contrast, ‘Golden’ is the latest bedding collection from Greenhouse Interiors and it’s a much more muted affair. According to the brand, the range is inspired by gentle rays and lazy beach days, the sound of the ocean roaring with the crashing of waves, an optimistic sea breeze, gelato and salty hair.
The new Spring/Summer range celebrates nostalgic prints, pattern play and the brand’s signature ingredient – colour. Designed in Melbourne, the painterly collection features soft, textured European linens and a tranquil, pastel palette.
“The smell of coconut oil, the taste of watermelon, sticky fingers and sandy feet. Dreamy sunsets, balmy nights, summer soirees and palm trees on the horizon. We are finally out of hibernation, and entering the golden days of spring and summer,” says Greenhouse Interiors’ Julia Green.
Perfect for summer, the brand’s art bedcovers are back this season but you’d better hop to it as they usually sell out.

An environment of rolling lockdowns, pregnancy and parenting hardly seems conducive to starting a homewares line but it proved the perfect trifecta for Melbourne mum Kate Taylor. On maternity leave from her job as a government lawyer, Kate was locked down and awaiting the birth of her second child when she decided to launch the pure hemp linen brand Calvi.Co in August 2021.
“I’d lost a bit of motivation through the many Melbourne lockdowns and felt I needed to get in touch with my creative side after having been in the corporate world for a while. I happened to discover hemp linen at the same time as I was feeling this way, so the business seemed like the perfect passion project,” says Kate.
Initially drawn to the sustainability credentials of hemp, Kate was surprised to find that the textile is as soft as the hugely popular flax linen but has a variety of superior factors. “Hemp has a very high yield per square metre and its water consumption is about as much as flax which is much better than cotton. Hemp is also the strongest textile fibre available which gives it a superior shelf life,” says Kate who explains that the Calvi.Co range is stonewashed and softened which makes for a great skin feel. “Since hemp has come back into fashion, they’ve worked out that it can be treated in much the same way as flax and made to be softer.”
The petite range features pillowcases, sheets and quilt covers in three different neutral colourways chosen for their sartorial longevity – snow (a lovely, crisp white), ash (a gorgeous grey) and pebble (a classic beige). “The colours are designed to suit any interior style and because hemp is such a long-lasting product, we didn’t think it made sense to follow trends,” says Kate.
As for any negative associations around hemp itself, Kate feels that thinking is misguided. And in a sign that we could be at the beginning of a hemp homewares wave, she has noticed there are many more products on the market compared to when she first started researching.
“There’s a bit of a misconception about what hemp is and its association with marijuana doesn’t help. I’ve noticed more hemp products appearing over the past 12 months but when I first started looking, they were hard to find.”
Calvi.Co founder Kate Taylor
Kate is intent on elevating the status of the textile: “The product is as good as flax linen, if not better. I don’t see why hemp linen can’t be featured inside Vogue Living next to all the flax alternatives!”
While it’s hard to think about any other weather event than the tragic floods that have hit the country of late, autumn has arrived and with it a new array of bed linen. From trans-seasonal coverlets to pretty autumnal florals, the season sees an emergence of a strong colour palette with navy, eucalyptus green and cinnamon appearing across brands.
L&M Home’s autumn line-up is a cosy affair with lots of plain bedding options in rich tones including classic navy and cinnamon. The brand’s plain Nordic linen range is woven in Portugal and crafted using fine, 100% cotton yarns making for an ultra-soft feel with a hint of crispness. We love the brand’s gorgeous Soho quilt in the new nougat tone – it looks particularly fresh when paired with navy sheets.
L&M Home’s Soho quilt in nougat, pictured with the brand’s Nordic bed linen in navy.
As is typical for the brand, the, Kip & Co. autumn drop is rather large with lots of gems to be found. We’re particularly fond of the ‘Blooms’ printed linen range that features an orange, white-washed green and pink floral print on an olive base with plain olive reverse. This design looks fabulous paired with the brand’s iconic velvet quilt cover in the new khaki colour way. From $209.
‘Bloom’ sheets and pillow cases paired with a khaki velvet quilt cover
Aura’s much-loved Maison Vintage coverlet has had an autumnal makeover and is now available in a gorgeous warm tone the the brand has called hazelnut. Perfect for the in-between seasons, the coverlet is made from French flax grown sustainably in the coastal regions of France and blended with sustainably sourced, super soft cotton. The brand’s Maison Vintage quilt cover in Syrah is a sophisticated choice too. From $259.
Linen House has embraced green in a major way this autumn from khaki to forest green and other shades too. The large-scale ‘Wren Forest’ quilt cover set and the ‘Heath Eucalyptus’ quilt cover set are particularly lovely. From $169.99.
This versatile quilt cover wouldn’t look out of place in a teenage boy’s room
Navy is big on the bedding front at Adairs also – perhaps the classic shade is the new charcoal? The pretty ‘Wild Garden’ pale green quilt cover set is one for the floral lovers. From $159.99.

Mix and match bedding tips from Kip & Co
It’s the time of year where we’re all adding extra layers to our beds for warmth but the more we add, the harder it can be to achieve a cohesive…
Previously known as Linen & Moore, L&M Home was founded in 2000 and its bedding range has a focus on natural materials rich in texture and character. More of a forever purchase, the linen becomes softer with time and use, as does the soft hand-loomed cotton. And while the range features plenty of trend-based colours, it’s the classic stripes and textured pieces that are perfect for that chic, timeless aesthetic.
We just love Rachel Castle’s fun but sophisticated linen range, mastering mix and match and making bright colour acceptably grown up. You’re probably familiar with her spotty sheets, velvet penny round cushions and limited edition screen printed tea towels, which get snapped up and framed as affordable art. Castle’s all about pops of colour and a bit of whimsy.
On the website you’ll also find beach towels, bags, sweatshirts, Rachel’s original artwork and prints and more. I have countless grey linen doona covers and my castle one is my fave. So much so I have now actually worn it out from years of washing and use!
It’s the linen Jen currently has on her bed (a mix of rosa and mint ticking stripes, if you’re interested, and yes, pink and green should always be seen!). LinenMe only manufacture bed linen from 100% European stonewashed linen which is strong and supple, getting better with each use and wash. They say investing in a top quality European linen product is an investment in longevity. Their range of colours (especially for the stripe lovers!) is huge and as well as sheets. covers and pillowcases, they also sell table linen, throws, cushions, robes and much more!
Launched in 2013, I Love Linen started as just bed linen and has expanded to include table linen, homewares, towels and more. When it comes to your bedroom textiles, you’ll find pure cotton and linen, organic bamboo, cushions, mattress toppers and more. Whether you’re after on-trend crumpled plain linen or crisp, white, hotel style sheets, it’s a great one-stop-shop! We love the mix of plains and patterns and layering extras like valances and pillowcases too – all great quality and at very reasonable prices.
The brand’s ‘3D Bundle Curator’ tool is a great feature of the site – you can build an entire bedroom look from the fitted sheet to the quilt cover and more. The tool gives you a visual which shows exactly how the selection will look on your bed.
Launched in Melbourne in 2012, Kip&Co was founded by sisters Kate Heppell and Hayley Pannekoecke and best buddy Alex McCabe. Their bold designs and trademark giant tassel throws have become cult bestsellers and they do a great limited edition collaboration too! Collection after collection, year after year, we love this brand more and more.
What started as a bright, colourful bedding brand, quickly expanded into a vibrant lifestyle brand, as the girls brought their fun and stylish aesthetic to products for every corner of the home, and every member of the family. Now with a global following, Kip&Co continues to be inspired by the girls’ simple passion for interiors that are full of joy, laughter and the colour of life.
Aura Home is now a very established brand, sold online as well as in the likes of Myer. Founded in 2000 by Tracie Ellis, and inspired by years of global meandering, they design everything in Melbourne, and while we seen many trends come and go, they believe it’s their forward-looking approach that sets them apart. They’ve evolved from muted, earthy tones to extravagant colour, and then to subtle pastels. We think they have just the right amount of pattern and texture these days!
They’ve expanded to sell things such as rugs, ceramics, towels and more, and now have a beautiful concept store in Malvern too. I’m a fan of their ticking stripes and tie-closure Maison quilt covers.
Another great small Aussie linen brand for high quality, classic, muted linen. They believe in products that last, great customer service and only use European flax linen. Founder Nicolle Sullivan believes using beautiful things in our everyday life can make us feel happier. Agreed! They also sell table linen, throws, cushions, robes and more. Shipping is free on every order and the brand offers free returns too.
Just another plain linen brand? Maybe! But In the Sac gets top marks for branding, packaging and colour choices! Great quality, great colours (and lovely stripes) and free shipping worldwide.
Of course, no Australian linen roundup is complete without Sheridan! People will tell you how the sheets they received as a wedding gift are still going strong, decades on! And I find their sheets just feel amazing too! Cotton, silk, linen, plain, patterned, modern, classic, colourful, from 250 to 1200 threadcount and everything in between, they have it all! Founded in 1967, Sheridan is a household name synonymous with quality (you’ll find them in Qantas first class, no less). In recent years they’ve done some great collaborations too. I find it’s a great place to buy bed covers (or coverlets) which can be tricky to find in Australia.
“We’re proud to design prints that unexpectedly and expertly clash with one another,” says Sage x Clare’s designer Phoebe Bell. From Moroccan stars to statement animal prints, hand drawn florals, handmade embroidery and 1970’s inspired colours and textures, this brand is one for the maximalists. Expert at the mix and match, we love how the brand’s sheet sets, quilt covers and cushions create a playful Bohemian vibe in the bedroom.
Not the first place you’d expect to find fabulous bed linen but we like to think of it as a hidden gem. From florals to checks, plain and abstract designs, the line-up is strong but the prices are reasonable. For example, the 100% linen duvet cover below is priced at $200 which is a steal in our books! With waffle blankets, down duvet covers, pillows and more available, it really is a one-stop bedding shop.
Featuring collaborations with contemporary Australian artists, the Greenhouse Interiors bedding range comes in limited edition, highly covetable, prints. The art embellished range is designed to be mixed and matched with all of the pieces available to purchase separately. The range’s 100 per cent cotton art emblazoned bed covers are always a sell-out.
Another clever purveyor of mix and match bed linen, Melbourne’s Sheet Society don’t believe in being forced to buy bed sheets in sets; all of its items are available for individual sale making the brand a great choice for a bespoke look. Specialising in bed sheets that are trend-driven in terms of colours, designs and fabrics, the brand’s core products are made from luxurious long-stable Eden Cotton and French flax Eve linen but there’s boucle, corduroy and waffle options too. Invisible zips, extra wide elastic, a deep pillow fold and a folded top edge are all standard features.
This VIC-based brand do luxury linen “without the la di da” and pride themselves on keeping it real! “We are not your typical linen brand and we don’t get all fancy pants on our customers, we just want to give them the best night’s sleep, night after night,” says founder Nikki Cap. They specialise in only 100% premium pure French linen. “Quite simply, it’s damn good!”
This gorgeous bedding brand has a distinct retro vibe. There’s leopard print, gingham, floral patterns and more, all created in 100 per cent French flax linen. The brand also produces gorgeous napery and cushions as well as a lovely line-up of matching apparel.
Melbourne based surface pattern designer Mable Tan has teamed up with Target Australia to create a lovely Australian themed homewares range titled ‘Glorious Summer’ which takes inspiration our bountiful native flora and fauna. Inspired by one of Mable’s Victorian staycations, the pastel collections features cockatoos, lorikeets, golden wattle, eucalyptus flowers and protea all rendered in the designer’s whimsical, vintage inspired style.
Mable Tan with her Target Australia range
“I’m so excited to have worked with Target Australia on this range. I’m passionate about creating designs that add happiness to everyday life and to me, nature clears my mind and helps me to feel more grounded and peaceful. This collaboration with Target gives me the chance to share that feeling with all Australians and that’s something I’m really proud of,” says Mable, who has perviously licensed her designs to iconic international brands such as Urban Outfitters, Nordstrom and Target USA.
The towels are gorgeous! The range features tablecloths and tableware
The range features bed linen and towel sets, wall art, tablecloths, cushions, candles, drink bottles, mugs and more. And with prices ranging from $8 to $79 it’s a pretty accessible range designed for most people to enjoy.
“At Target, we want to design, create and curate meaningful quality products and experiences that families can trust. This new collaboration with Mable Tan allows us to draw on the local experiences of our community and the inspiration of the Australian landscape, to bring a range of real quality products to our customers that they can’t find anywhere else,” says Emma Duxbury-Thompson, Business Manager – Home, Target Australia.
The bedding will no doubt be prove popular
Before becoming a surface pattern designer, Mable worked as a journalist, stylist and photographer and has exhibited across the globe and had her prints licenced to some of the most recognisable retailers worldwide. It’s great to see Target Australia added to that list!

“I love being in the outdoors, and I think that interiors need to feel connected to the outside world, so I want to bring nature in,” says Studio Onethirty designer Sarah Kalidis…
The latest art embellished home and lifestyle range from Greenhouse Interiors, Bloom SS22, has dropped and it’s quite the beauty. Featuring collaborations with Australian artists Kate Owen, Belynda Henry and Jade Fisher, the collection is all about embracing the warm glow of summer and we like its sunny feel a lot.
“There’s a certain feeling in the air as the first rays of summer cast their warming glow. Our latest range, Bloom, captures these lush, tropical, high summer vibes. It celebrates the happy feels of balmy evenings, turquoise water and beaming sunshine, and encapsulates the comfort and warmth of a Santorini getaway,” says Julia Green.
The collection features duvets, sheets, quilts and European pillows in beautiful 100% European flax linen. The collection’s art bed covers are a key piece in the range – the perfect weight for summer, they are made from 100% cotton, feature contrast kantha stitching and, rather conveniently, are machine washable too.
The homewares collection extends to beautiful tea towels, interesting art planters and colourful napery sets that are ideal for creating a non-traditional Christmas tabletop.
The napery range is rather gorgeous
As with past collections, there’s a fashion line-up with bucket hats, dressing gowns, t-shirts, sweaters, tote bags and cute toiletry bags in the mix – all fabulous Christmas gift ideas too. The brand’s popular shirt dress is back again and this time there’s a one-off design by another Greenhouse Interiors favourite, artist Georgie Wilson.

Gingham bed linen: Our pick of the latest hot trend

If a change of season isn’t a good excuse to change things around at home then I don’t know what is. I mean, I’m not saying you need an excuse, but if you were looking for one, Spring is it! And the easiest way to change up the look of your bedroom in particular, is with a fresh quilt cover set.
Manchester Collection have a huge range for every taste (and also a huge sale at the moment) so I picked my top 10 for you, whether you love patterned or plain, classic or relaxed.
There are two types of quilt cover people in the world: patterned and plain! If you fall into the former then this has to be the epitome of a spring quilt cover for a bit of a seasonal switch up!
If you don’t really want to commit to pattern but you don’t want plain either, then here is your happy medium! I’d also bet this doesn’t need ironing! You can make this yours by adding your choice of cushions and a throw or just enjoy that all-white look with plenty of texture. A great purchase if you ask us! It also comes in pale pink and grey.
If you love that luxury hotel bed look and feel, this is the one for you and it comes with a choice of contrasting navy, mocha, black, navy or silver embroidery on the white cotton base.
If you love the crisp, cool feel of hotel bed linen but want something a little plainer, this is made of long staple cotton in a buttery smooth weave. 5-star luxury in your home! This comes in eight colours and co-ordinating sheets and accessories are also available.
Waffle’s another classic choice but I love the extra texture of this particular design. And the green is a lovely colour for spring but it also comes in even more classic white, a pale bright blue, neutral linen, charcoal and even a floral design. Bonus points for NO IRONING REQUIRED!
I love the subtle dusty pale pink of this one, which is quite a traditional jacquard brought right up to date with the colour. It definitely says Spring to me!
They do say once you’ve slept on linen you’ll never go back and I personally love how it gets softer with each wash, it goes with everything, it looks deliberately a bit creased (what’s an iron again?!) and of course it’s all natural and breathable and great for all seasons. This comes in silver (pictured), white, linen and charcoal and is stonewashed. A great neutral basic, you can let it shine on its own or layer it up with cushions, throws and contrasting sheets.
As soft as your favourite t-shirt, this set is a lovely, relaxed choice and feels lovely on your skin. We also like the hidden zip. So popular it comes in eight colour ways!
Happy with your existing quilt cover but want to add a layer or replace the doona entirely with something more lightweight for summer? You can’t go past this pretty white coverlet!

Sheet Society have a fresh new spring collection and we’re mad for it. It’s fresh, tactile and a great mood lifter as we leave behind the colder weather and (soon enough) lockdowns, welcoming some holiday vibes into our homes.
We’re loving the uplifting spring colours in The Sheet Society’s Spring range
“Inspired by picnic pandemonium and dreams of faraway places, we created a capsule that feels transportive and light. Retro resort-like colour palettes that instantly supercharge and uplift our moods as we wave goodbye to the cooler months. It’s escapism for your bedroom,” says CEO Hayley Worley.
The reversible, breathable Goldie Gauze in Butter and subtly contrasting Burnt Butter
An innovative new textural offering, Goldie Gauze is a reversible, tactile quilt cover that was made for lightweight feels and versatility. Goldie is produced using 100% cotton yarns to create a light, open weave that produces the cloth-like finish. It’s made from three separate layers of gauze tacked together to softly layer up the density of the finished fabric.
Goldie Gauze is reversible in two different hues, and has a lovely, textural look and feel.
“The ultimate benefits of this fabric are its breathability and natural fibre origins, making it a perfect trans seasonal product,” says Hayley.
The spring capsule is made up of tried-and-tested ranges that regular Sheet Society customers know and love, infused with new sun-kissed colours. The two newest colourways include Sky and Musk, which look great alongside Soft Apricot, Chocolate, Camel and Butter from bedspreads past.
New solid colours in the Eden range include Sky (above) and Musk (below)
Alongside these solids comes a much-anticipated release of gingham print (we can’t get enough of gingham at Interiors Addict!).The resurgence of the long-adored gridded style was first seen on the runway, and is now increasingly making its way into our homes too.
We love this smaller, more modern take on the classic gingham, shown here in Sky
And while we’re talking classics, stripes of course never get old. Sheet Society have two new Leo washed cotton stripe colours too; we particularly love the Camel (below).
Each piece of bedding, whether it’s a sheet, quilt cover, or pillowcase is made with a quality yarn composition of breathable, 100% natural fibres. The flat sheet even comes with a sewn-in 20cm double layer, so there’s no need to fold them back either.
Two new Eve linen colours are the beautiful Cocoa (above) and Tan (below) chambrays.
“We know that traditionally, people have been frustrated with their bedding, and this increases tenfold in the Australian summer. Making your bed can be a notoriously arduous task, but we believe quality fabrication and tactful detailing can put an end to that. We want your bedding to be more dream-worthy, less of a nightmare, especially after a long winter of waiting for brighter days,” says Hayley.
We’re always excited for a new Kip & Co. drop and this week saw the launch of the brand’s Spring/Summer ’21 collection titled Golden Hour. Inspired by countryside weekend escapes, nature is certainly at the forefront – there’s bold florals, statement stripes and tactile tartans in a palette of golden hues, fresh blues, berry shades and ivy greens. Woven linens, giant tassels and plush quilting feature too.
“The collection is inspired by sweet weekend escapes where time moves slowly, while a wild and abundant nature comes into focus,” says Kip and Co. co-founder Alex McCabe.
The range includes new cushion and rug designs
The brand’s commitment to nature can be seen in its new sustainability focus also, with all of the cotton bedding in this range made from certified organic cotton. This means harmful chemicals, irritants and pollutants have been removed from the brand’s supply chain and there is reduced water usage in the manufacturing process too. With these new practices, this season alone, Kip & Co. will save over 25 million litres of water!
This beautiful striped linen is available in a gorgeous blush shade too
“For the kids, we’re channelling those perfect days, where you can briefly unplug and reconnect with the simple pleasures of life,” says Alex. There are embroidered florals, jumping frogs, diving penguins and a starlit night design. The collection also sees the return of several kids’ favourites including velvet beanbags, petal cushions, duffle bags and floor rugs.
This season’s tabletop offering is rather gorgeous with two new brass napkin rings available in a tropical palm or fish design, perfect for summer entertaining. “We’re getting festive in the kitchen as we head into the season of entertaining. Our beautiful tableware and cutlery celebrate the joy of nourishing and flourishing our bodies and sharing that with those we love the most!” says Alex.
TablewareThe range includes two new brass napkin holder designs including this palm one
The kids’ apparel range is typically bold but this time includes swimwear too. “Our kids’ apparel is a collection packed with colour to match their energy! Dedicated to all those kids who are shooting stars, we have prints that will spark their imaginations and styles that are ready for their biggest adventures.”
The brand has added cute kids’ swimwear to its offering
Kip & Co.’s new autumn collection is big on texture

Drawing is second nature to Sydney-based designer and artist Karina Jambrak. She first started selling the art she created as a high school student in 2001, at the famous Bondi Beach Markets.
Her career as an independent artist began in 2018, when she was made redundant from her dream job as a graphic designer, right after her husband had undergone open heart surgery. Needing to provide for her family, she decided to turn her passion into a full-time career and start her own small business.
Karina’s art is hand-drawn using copic markers, and predominantly uses soft, pastel colour palette. She draws inspiration from Australian landscapes and flora, as well as other parts of the world.
After the success of the first range, Karina has collaborated with Adairs to release a new range of homewares. The collection evokes imagery of dusky, winter foliage, and is sure to lend a sense of serenity to the rooms in which they are placed.
“I want everyone to see the beauty that the winter can bring to the Australian landscape, and how we can bring that beauty into our indoor spaces,” Karina explains, speaking of her inspiration for the collection.
The pastel-hued designs are printed on an array of items, including organic cotton linen, dinner and serving ware, towels, and décor items.
“I am so excited that Adairs asked me to design a second range for them after the success of the first,” Karina says. “Seeing my work come to life on everyday items has been such a dream and I am so proud with how this second collection came out.”
Karina has also designed a playful, jungle inspired collection for Adairs Kids. It features tangerine tones that are sure to ignite the imagination. Delightful hand-drawn images embellish the items, with fun African animals parading amongst greenery similar to that of the main collection.

When renting, your options to personalise your space are limited. You don’t have to paint your walls or remodel the kitchen to have a space that reflects your unique style, however. Genevieve Rosen-Biller has provided her expert tips to make your rental your own.
Swap out blinds and curtains
If you’re renting, it’s almost a given the window treatments will be a little dated. The good news is that these can usually be swapped out easily and inexpensively. Hanging some fresh curtains in a neutral shade will quickly update the room and give it a whole new look. Just hang onto the old ones so you can put them back up again when you move out. (And take your new ones with you!)

Invest in beautiful bedding
Quality bed linen is a near effortless way to elevate a bedroom. This room should feel like a sanctuary and choosing pure bedding that is comfortable, breathable and luxurious will ensure you always sleep well. The enticing texture and broad colour range makes linen sheets a popular choice. Style in single tones or mix and match for a simple yet chic look.
Introduce plants
Leafy pot plants liven up and bring energy to any space, while keeping you feeling connected to the natural world. A big towering plant like a fiddle leaf fig in a bare corner, or trailing vines like devil’s ivy cascading down a shelf are instant statement maker. As a bonus, they will purify the air.

Add artworks
Art is a sure-fire way to add colour and personality to a place, and an art collection is something you can build on over time and take wherever you go. Most landlords will grant permission to add some hooks to blank walls so you can hang your favourite pieces. If this isn’t an option, lean oversized artworks against the walls on the floor and line up smaller pieces along cabinets, mantels and bookshelves.

Let there be light
Lighting can make a huge difference to the ambience and style. If natural light is lacking, bring in some floor and table lamps placed carefully around. Light fixtures that are daggy or clash with your chosen décor can easily be replaced with something more modern. As with the window treatments, just remember to stash the old ones somewhere safe for when you leave.

Cover the floor
A non-permanent solution to ugly patterned tiles, stained carpet or weathered floorboards is to layer rugs over the top. The larger the better, in colours and textures that give the room a new look while covering up all manner of sins at the same time.

With temperatures starting to drop, we’re rather excited about the potential for bedroom restyling – out with summer’s light fabrics and colours and in with a much more autumnal vibe. L&M Home: Released recently, the brand’s new Massimo collection won’t win many awards for pushing the envelope but boy is it luxe. Comprised of soft cotton quilted in a linear design, this design would suit just about any interior style. Pair it with tobacco toned velvet cushions for a crisp autumn look.
Castle and Things: Rachel Castle’s latest collection features more of her iconic spots and stripes but this time with an autumn/winter colour update.
“We wanted our new autumn/winter range to squeal ‘snuggle’ factor, warmth with a twist and grown up but cosy. So, we’ve got little buttery spots and big cloudy stripes with the cosiest new butterscotch floral. This season tells our signature story – strictly edited modern classics with a cheeky little wink,” says Rachel Castle.

Aura Home: Available in navy and caramel, Aura’s new Maya chenille quilt cover draws inspiration from the old and the new. Made from 100 per cent pure cotton for, we love its textural, bohemian vibe.
Kip & Co: Titled ‘Magic Happens,’ the autumn Kip & Co. collection has plenty for the maximalists and for those who favour a more subdued aesthetic. And while there are myriad florals, texture abounds with cotton velvet, French linen, soft cotton, chunky blanket knits, and waffle fabrics rounding out the range.
Linen House: Constructed from fine cotton voile, and trimmed with frayed rustic edges, the new Elysian bedding from Linen House gets our tick of approval. We’re particularly fond of the on-trend orchid/lilac and eucalyptus colour ways.
The brand’s new Della design is much bolder – a hand-painted, gestural leaf design features in 1970’s inspired hues.

While there’s plenty for maximalists in the new Kip & Co. range ‘Magic Happens,’ the collection is brimming with options for those who favour a more subdued aesthetic. The brand’s autumn collection has a focus on incorporating chunky texture into the home and not just the bold pattern we’ve come to expect from the brand.
Kip & Co.’s signature velvet and linen bedding is back in several fabulous new colour ways
“With tactile fabrics like cotton velvet, French linen, soft cotton, chunky blanket knits, and waffle, the range is a reminder of the importance of touch, and the beauty in slowing things down,” says Kip & Co co-founder Alex McCabe.
This large scale graphic check would look great on a child or adult’s bed
The new collection features pretty new velvet and linen shades (hello nude!) as well as some seriously gorgeous chunky knit throws that look both stylish and snuggly. Other standout pieces (that would look equally at home on the couch or the bed) include the gorgeous harlequin print ‘Iced Vovo’ throw as well as new shades of the brand’s signature tassel throws.
The ‘Honey Rhubarb’ chunky knit throw is a standout piece in the rangeThe new ‘Iced Vovo’ throw, velvet Monstera cushion in shrimp and classic linen in ‘Laurel Green’ are rather delicious too.
“You can include colour and texture – it doesn’t have to be all about the print. Sometimes it’s about adding a textural element without going the full maximalist hog,” says Kip & Co. marketing coordinator Amy Clarke who suggests starting with a plain linen or velvet and building the look from there.
“The collection is an ode to those moments of magic amidst the mayhem – the wonder of a rainbow, the twinkle of the stars, the laughter of your best friend. We shot in an incredibly romantic old hotel, and if the walls could talk, they would’ve whispered stories of a simpler time,” says Alex.
The beautiful kids’ ‘Speckle Candy’ print could almost pass as a neutral and would layer up nicely too.
The new cushion line-up includes striped velvets and a new bolster shape. We love the new large pink check bed linen too.
The latest tableware range features cutlery, table cloths, aprons and napkins in a fabulous array of new prints designed to make staying home a bit more joyful. “In the kitchen, we’re embracing the golden era of dining in. Our beautiful tableware and cutlery collection celebrates the joy of a home cooked meal, with a feeling of festivity and fun,” says Alex.
The ‘Pollen’ linen table cloth and napkin are styled with jewel napkin rings from the range.
Favourite collection prints have been turned into apparel – there’s leggings, tees, sweaters and a series of absolutely stunning cardigans. “We are so excited to intro our new hero – the big knitted cardigan is a must-have wardrobe essential,” says Alex.
What a stunning cardigan!
Maximalists never fear though, you are very much catered for. From whimsical florals and foliage, to a fabulous Greek God inspired print, there’s plenty to feast your eyes on.
One for print lovers, the ‘Greek God’ bedding is pretty divine
Launched in 2016, Eadie Lifestyle has become a mainstay of the Australian soft furnishing scene. Designed by a small in-house creative team, headed up by founder Trudie Cox, the company has never been too focussed on trends and instead delivers quality, timeless and enduring pieces that people can enjoy for years. The brand’s new collection, Grace, is testament to this.
The Grace collection
Calm, comfortable, soothing and elegant, the range is a lovely antidote to the uncertainty of modern times. “Grace is a collection born from a desire to stay authentic to our roots – timeless classic design, creating our own trends and not following others, and celebrating the subtleties of quality and detail,” says Trudie Cox.
With the business turning six this year, it gave Trudie the perfect opportunity to take stock and reevaluate where it was headed. “The last several months have brought much change around the globe. For many of us, myself included, it’s been a time of reflection, prioritising the important things and learning to savour a simplified lifestyle,” says Trudie. It’s a sentiment that runs through the tranquil collection.
The range boasts more than a passing nod to the ocean – ‘Sea Foam,’ ‘Low Tide’ and ‘Rockpool’ are just a couple of the series within. And while they are a great complement to coastal homes, the ranges would suit most interior schemes. The crowd-pleasing colour palette includes crisp white, neutrals, earthy pinks, soft greys and peaceful blues.
As for standout pieces, Trudie is most taken with the ‘Sea Foam’ series. Made from linen and cotton, the ‘Sea Foam’ fabric is fully reversible and has a fluted and flowing texture that has a fabulous drape.
The ‘Sea Foam’ series
“My other favourite is the extended Bedouin Linen Series which is made on traditional hand looms and has an interesting, luxurious texture,” says Trudie. This series has just been produced in ivory and there’s new cushion sizes (including an oversized lumbar), throws and linen bed covers within it too.

To celebrate the arrival of the collection, Trudie partnered with UK-based photographer Astrid Harrison who has a particular interest in horses and has captured some of the world’s rarest breeds; a couple of which feature in the campaign imagery and are available to buy.

“I am excited to say that Astrid has released these prints in limited edition to our Eadie community, for purchase. Each print will be numbered and embossed with Astrid’s logo. Astrid’s sought-after art has graced galleries throughout Europe, the USA and the Middle East, so we are very excited to be able to offer these beautiful works to our tribe.”
While Kip & Co.’s latest Spring/Summer collection ‘Vacay’ was designed last summer, its inspiration has since proved rather prescient. In an eery twist, it was centred around the idea of holidaying at home. “Little did we know how literal that inspiration would become!” says co-founder Alex McCabe who is based on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula.
“When home is your whole world, we want it to be the most beautiful world possible. This range is a reminder that just because you can’t go away, doesn’t mean you can’t vacay,” says Alex of the fun new range that features lots of gorgeous green and lavender tones.
And just like every other outing from the brand, this one pairs a clash of prints including feminine florals, classic stripes, Australian seascapes and lots of brilliant blooms. Key colours include chestnut brown and vintage pastel hues of clear blue, agave green and the aforementioned lavender – all designed to bring calm and serenity to the home this summer.
“In a nutshell, it continues the mix and match story that is uniquely Kip & Co!” says Alex.
Brand stalwarts will be glad to see favourites such as the tassel throws and velvets have been reproduced in new shades. The velvet cushion line-up has been reimagined too – the cute new Monstera design is one for the plant addicts.
Those new Monstera cushions are super cute
Velvet laptop cases have been added to the line-up also; a savvy move by the brand as a stylish spot to store your computer can be surprisingly hard to find. “The laptop cases are a fun new addition, as is the monstera cushion and delicate daisy chain cut-out bed throw.”

When it comes to clothing, the latest apparel is some of Kip & Co’s best yet; stripes interplay with florals and a gorgeous Christmas star print make for a highly covetable range.
“For the little ones, we’re dialling up the fun with embroidery, foil, and full on colour in our prints – from cult favourite dinos, to rainbow shards, and outer space adventures. This range is sure to keep the kids dreaming big this summer,” says Alex.
Mix and match bedding tips from Kip & Co
It’s the time of year where we’re all adding extra layers to our beds for warmth but the more we add, the harder it can be to achieve a cohesive…
Melbourne lifestyle brand Nancybird launched in 2002 when its founder Emily Wright created a small range of bags and purses in her backyard studio, as a side project to her fine arts degree. Now, almost 20 years later, the range includes fashion and homewares. And we love their latest Australiana-themed bedding collection.

“We’ve been creating small homewares collections for a few years now. In some ways there’s a bit more freedom with textile design than fashion,” says Emily who is endlessly inspired by Australia’s native flora and fauna. The latest collection is filled with brolgas, kookaburras, cockatoos, banksias, hakeas and ferns. “A balm for these tricky times!” says Emily who, located in Melbourne, is doing it tougher than most.
“With varying degrees of lockdown this year, the focus on our homes and wanting beauty in our surrounds, I think, has been more important than ever. Beds should be welcoming and make you feel good – and for us this means the mix of prints, soft checks and textures,” says Emily who loves to play with scale and a mix of prints including watercolour digital ones and handwoven designs.
The Blue Spot print with the navy Brolga print
This collection sees the return of some old favourites (the Blue Spot print) and the delicately hand-drawn Hakea pincushion alongside new designs like the gorgeous Brolga. “We’ve designed the range so that it’s really easy to mix prints and colours – checks, stripes and prints can work so nicely together and feel quite harmonious.”
Manufactured using a variety of international artisans, the talent pool comes from China, India, Korea and occasionally Bolivia and Latvia. “We’re always inspired by our artisan makers too – we partner with a weaving community in Central India who hand dye, loom and weave the softest cottons in beautiful stripes and checks. We’re really privileged to be able to utilise their skills and the community they’ve created.”

With summer on the wane, and winter not too far away, autumn is a fabulous time to get your bedroom ready for the cooler months. It’s seemingly also the most popular season for new bedding launches – coincidence much? I think not! From the inimitable Rachel Castle’s latest creations, to gorgeous oversized blooms at Linen House, the statement floral trend is certainly one with legs.
Castle & Things ‘Little Garden’ range: The Sydney bedding wunderkind has excelled herself with this latest design. Hand drawn by Rachel Castle herself (with watercolour, acrylic, pencil, texta, crayon, pastel and gouache), the whimsical floral design is heavenly. The range is complemented by a gorgeous creamy eggshell and black spotty linen.
