Design trade show DENFAIR lands in Sydney

One of Australia’s leading contemporary design and art events DENFAIR is coming to Sydney! A favourite in Melbourne, the boutique trade show brings together the brightest talent from local and international brands.

DENFAIR Melbourne 2017

Following continued success in Melbourne and many requests from both exhibitors and attendees to hold a second show in Sydney, the decision was a natural step. “It’s really humbling to see the show go from strength to strength and see the design community embrace the show with such enthusiasm,” says DENFAIR co-founder Thibaud Cau-Cecile.

Cult Stand 2017

With a focus on homegrown talent, the idea behind DENFAIR is to give designers a platform to promote original content without compromise. While many design exhibitions are done by large corporations in equally large spaces, the aim of DENFAIR is to put intimacy front and centre. “We want the show to be intimate enough to move around in a single day knowing that our visitors are time poor,” explains co-founder Claudio Oyarce. “Offering two shows permits an increase in visitation as we are closer to a wider audience.”

Great Dane Stand

DENFAIR Sydney 2018 will be held at the Hordern Pavillion from August 16 to 18.

In addition to this, students can be involved with ACE – the Australian Contemporary Emerging design competition – to support up and coming designers. Students can present their work in a design competition, which will form a feature display to promote the student and the educational facility they attend, at the event.

Promising not to be yet another home makeover show, the duo will be staying far away from tired concepts and instead focusing on giving Aussies realistic projects that they can do themselves. “You certainly won’t see us running around with paintbrushes doing room reveals before the homeowners arrive home,” explains Dani, who blogs at Basic Habitat. “Healthy Homes TV Australia is about bringing you the latest ideas and products to help you achieve a look or style yourself.”

Each week, Dani and Walt will visit a home and showcase how you too can transform your property. “We’re not tradies and we’re not pretending to be interior designers,” says Walt. “It’s a really honest and down to earth format which really does show you the things you can have a crack at yourself; how to achieve a designer look on a budget or how the latest air-conditioning technology can save you heaps of cash.”

Healthy Homes TV Australia launches Saturday 24 January at 1pm on TEN.
