Sunday Snippets: The best of the week in interiors

First, I must apologise for the lack of Sunday Snippets last week. As most of you will have heard by now, I had a crazy weekend: got engaged on Saturday and had my birthday on Sunday! Can’t complain!

Back to this week, here’s what been happening in my world and interiors…

  • I shared a new online find, I Love Linen, where you can pick up everything you need to recreate that hotel bed at home, but at a massive discount.
  • Hot on the heels of Real Living magazine, Country Style launches its own bed linen collection with Domayne this week.
  • The new belle magazine hit the news stands and I was delighted to find two photos of little ole me in there! Did you spot me?
  • I LOVE candles and I told you about a new Melbourne brand called Voyager that have a really clever ‘floating’ design.
  • Bay & Fyfe is one of Sydney’s hottest new lifestyle brands, currently producing some stunning scarves featuring art by Sneaky Sound System’s Daimon Downey. Founder Frith Hucks gave us an exclusive look inside her Sydney home, where many of the scarves decorate her walls as pieces of art.

A pretty big week all round! I hope you all have a fantastic new week ahead! Jen x

New online finds you should know about

I’ve discovered a few new online treasures lately so I thought I should share them with you.

Duckfat: a cool little site selling vintage, retro, industrial and brand new things for your home. Love the lighting, apothecary jars, flour sack cushions, vintage maps and other quirky one-offs.

White Horse Home: Discovered this a while ago and have hankering after its Today Is A Good Day wall hanging ever since. It will be mine. Small but fab collection of cushions, wall hangings and candles.

Wee Birdy: I’ve recently got to know fellow blogger Rebecca and her blog is really cool. Check it out if you’re a girl who likes shopping, vintage fashion, interiors, Etsy and the like.

Haus Maus: Of course you’ve heard of decor8 but have you checked out Holly Becker’s more personal blog about her expat adventures in Germany?

Sydney Writers’ Centre: I was recently a finalist in Sydney Writers’ Centre’s Best Australian Blogs Competition (hooray!). Did you know they run a two-week evening course on writing about interiors, style and design? I’m thinking about doing it.

Sarah Wilson’s blog: This is completely unrelated to interiors but a week ago I embarked on Sarah Wilson’s eight-week I Quit Sugar program. That’s what that #IQS hashtag is all about on Twitter. I’m not endorsing it or anything but if you’re interested, check it out.

Interiors Addict a finalist in Best Australian Blogs 2012

What a delightful surprise to learn today that Interiors Addict is a finalist in the personal/lifestyle category of the Best Australian Blogs Competition 2012 run by Sydney Writers’ Centre. I am so happy! The blog only turned one last week and I feel it has come so far already. I am really honoured to be one of eight finalists in the category. More than 1,000 blogs entered! Wowsers!

A big congratulations to my fellow lifestyle finalists All Consuming, Edenland, In Search of a Life Less Ordinary, Magento Bold too!, Not Quite Nigella, Taste Explorer and Tune into Radio Carly. They’re all so talented I’ve got no chance!

The finalists were chosen by the judges but public voting is still open in the People’s Choice category and I would love you to vote for me. Just click on the big blue and yellow button on the right or click here. It really does only take a few seconds. Thanks in advance for your support, Jen x
