I view leopard print as a neutral which goes to explain its surprising versatility and enduring appeal. A fashion stalwart for what feels like forever, the look has slowly been trickling into interiors but lately it feels as if it’s everywhere on the home front. From an embossed velvet bedhead to statement wallpaper and bedding, these are our favourite leopard finds.

Out of Africa: Adairs release animal prints for spring!

I don’t know about you but it seems that wherever I look at the minute there’s a safari animal. A feline lover from way back (my wardrobe has more leopard print options than I’d care to admit), I’m particularly taken with all the leopards, lions and tigers currently adorning clothing (particularly children’s) and homewares but I’m also loving the zebra and elephant motifs too. And it seems that Adairs is getting in on the act with its spring 2018 range that sees safari animals, leafy greenery and rattan take centre stage.

There’s a distinct colonial vibe present in the collection too with lots of beautiful rattan and woven furniture alongside textured quilt covers, tufted wall hangings and a palette of bright green and earthy colours.

The collection’s bedding features tasseled and hand-woven elements for a beautifully bohemian, world-traveller vibe while cushions and throws are bright and bold and feature tufted details.

The Home Republic Newport quilted velvet bedlinen in peacock (below) is more typical Adairs fare but I had to include it because I think it’s super lush. It is available in a gorgeous pale seafoam colour too.

Rattan is certainly the star of the range’s home decor and furniture offering. With rattan a key forecast trend for spring and summer, it makes sense that the collection includes woven rattan chairs, bedheads, mirrors and pet accessories.

Jen’s Lust List: 13.06.17

Hi folks. Sorry I’ve neglected this weekly roundup while I’ve been overseas!

I have developed a love of floral artworks lately and this limited edition Waratah print from Lamai Anne is rather gorgeous. Lamai, who loves drawing Australian natives, brings her illustrations to life with her digital art. Her work began its upward spiral when her first fabric collection was showcased through Robert Kaufman. She has since worked with companies such as Adairs and Hallmark cards. From $135.

Clearly I’m rather partial to the native flora myself! Maybe it’s because I’m from England where the flowers are so very different (yet equally lovely)? I’ve always loved Utopia Goods and their latest collection, The Native Classics, is as gorgeous as ever. The Waratah and Eucalypt designs are my favourites. Aussie as. In the best possible way!

Something else you can never have enough touches of (when done right) in my opinion, is leopard print! This Society of Wanderers print on French linen is just perfect and comes as table and bed linen. Whether you go for napkins or Euro pillowcases, this touch of animal print will look great in your home. Trust me! Buy online via Greenhouse Interiors.

I seem to be all about textiles this week, don’t I?! I feel like gingham is making a comeback and I’m loving it! I’m currently in the UK and gingham is all over the high street in clothing. How good are these charcoal pillowcases from the new The Pillowslip Store? I feel like you could easily mix and match them to great effect, even if you kept your doona cover plain. I do enjoy a more layered, mix and match bed look in the cooler months. $35 each in 100% cotton.

I’ll be back with more finds next week!

Beautiful, unique ceramics by Takeawei

I was delighted to discover this Australian ceramics brand by a talented and well travelled Queenslander with a very impressive fashion background.

It comes as no surprise to me that Chela Edmunds’ work is being stocked by Sydney’s Koskela, which is a serious stamp of approval for anyone! Takeawei is a range of beautiful and useful objects in clay, covering a handful of trends with its ombre, animal print and neon designs, while still offering something very unique and endearingly imperfect. I particularly like the diversity of her pieces.

Chela says: “I’m so happy to be in Koskela! Being that I can only make a limited amount of pieces each month I knew I couldn’t supply everyone. Koskela was at the top of my list. They have such a refreshing approach to retail as a lifestyle experience.”
