Continuing its mission to partner with homegrown artists and makers, Adairs has partnered with the talented Geelong artist (and Interiors Addict fave) Kimmy Hogan for a limited edition collection. Available in store and online from today, the range is floral, feminine and warm and features bed linen, wall art, cushions, homewares as well as children’s bedding and nursery wares.
The Kimmy Hogan x Adairs range includes a variety of soft furnishings
“I am so looking forward to my range for Adairs being launched. This has been a real collaboration where I have been a part of the design process right down to the fabric selection,” says Kimmy of the range that is sure to delight shoppers with its dreamy colour palette and lovely botanical prints.
The bedding line-up is rather gorgeous
Standouts from the range include a stunning bed linen offering as well as timber serving ware, throws, cushions and bed linen. “I’m excited to be the first collaborating artist to use Adairs’ glorious 100% linen for the quilts and I think my artwork translates so well on this fabrication. I am so happy with the products – I want all of them in my house,” says Kimmy.
The Geelong based trained graphic designer is known for her love of illustration, art and interiors making the collaboration a very natural one. Kimmy works with illustrations and sketches to create her initial compositions before each of them are redrawn by ‘hand’ using digital tools. The fresh, botanically themed designs certainly do lend themselves to the homewares space.
We love the collections throw rugs
Echoing Kimmy’s physical artworks, the Adairs x Kimmy Hogan collection is crafted with botanic landscapes and florals – all of which feature a pop of colour layered on a neutral base. “I’m getting better at following my heart rather than overthinking what people might be wanting or expecting. All my artworks hold a special meaning to me; they are created with huge consideration, thought and feeling,” says Kimmy.
Once just known for its quality, affordable bedding and towels, Adairs has expanded into a one-stop home emporium. The large range now includes furniture, prints, ceramics and more and often features collaborations with Australian design talents such as Mark Tuckey and Fleur Harris too.

10 things we’re loving at Fantastic Furniture
There was a time when cut-price furniture and accessories rarely produced more than a cut-price result but that’s not the case anymore. Fantastic Furniture had a rebrand a few years…
While it’s hard to think about any other weather event than the tragic floods that have hit the country of late, autumn has arrived and with it a new array of bed linen. From trans-seasonal coverlets to pretty autumnal florals, the season sees an emergence of a strong colour palette with navy, eucalyptus green and cinnamon appearing across brands.
L&M Home’s autumn line-up is a cosy affair with lots of plain bedding options in rich tones including classic navy and cinnamon. The brand’s plain Nordic linen range is woven in Portugal and crafted using fine, 100% cotton yarns making for an ultra-soft feel with a hint of crispness. We love the brand’s gorgeous Soho quilt in the new nougat tone – it looks particularly fresh when paired with navy sheets.
L&M Home’s Soho quilt in nougat, pictured with the brand’s Nordic bed linen in navy.
As is typical for the brand, the, Kip & Co. autumn drop is rather large with lots of gems to be found. We’re particularly fond of the ‘Blooms’ printed linen range that features an orange, white-washed green and pink floral print on an olive base with plain olive reverse. This design looks fabulous paired with the brand’s iconic velvet quilt cover in the new khaki colour way. From $209.

I don’t know about you but I’m thoroughly enjoying giving my house a solid spring clean and refresh in time for summer. And nowhere do I feel this is more necessary than in my kids’ rooms where new bed linen is a must. From iconic flower fairies to Star Wars, there’s plenty to love about our latest children’s bedding picks.
Kip & Co x Flower Fairies Since their first publication in 1923, Cicely Mary Barker’s Flower Fairies have enchanted both adults and children alike making them perfect fodder for Kip & Co’s latest children’s bedding collaboration.
“There’s nothing like the moment you see your first fairy, fluttering around at the bottom of the garden where it’s over-grown and wild. This collection takes you right back to that moment, to cherish with your little ones all over again”, says Kip & Co co-founder Kate Heppell.
The limited-edition collection includes organic cotton bedding for kids and babies, cushions, play mats, blankets, swaddles and bibs. From $15.
Adairs Star Wars collection Very different in tone from the above, the Adairs Star Wars collection is super fun. It’s also a lovely, subtle take on your typical cartoon emblazoned, novelty bedding. Adairs x Mark Tuckey: “I never set out to have a luxury brand, it just went that way because I wanted to make quality product. It’s always been a dream that one day we could diversify and make it available to more people,” says Mark Tuckey of collaborations with Adairs. And while the latest drop is filled with lots of gorgeous furniture and homewares items, it’s the bedding that caught our eye. Designed with sustainability in mind, using hemp and organic cotton chambray, the range is classic without being boring, and features gorgeous earthy colours paired with light neutral tones and navy.

Freedom: The latest Freedom bed linen features natural fabrics and lush textures ideal for layering and cocooning throughout winter. There’s jacquard, linen, bamboo, cotton, Turkish flannelette and Lyocel – a luxe blended linen and Tencel. “Our bed linen is effortlessly timeless; it’s all about unique fabrications instead of prints that swiftly become dated,” says Freedom head of homewares Christie Maartensz.
The brand has identified the coverlet as a key winter bedding trend, due to its flexibility and layering properties. “The coverlet is a great layering option on top of a quilt cover but it can also be double-folded as a runner on the bed. Then in the summer months, coverlets can be simply layered with a flat sheet,” says Christie. From $150.

Miimi and Jiinda's Lauren Jarrett and Melissa Greenwood with their Adairs range
The latest artist collaboration hits Adairs stores this week and this one sees the iconic mother-daughter duo Lauren Jarrett and Melissa Greenwood, of Indigenous Australian art business Miimi and Jiinda, in the spotlight. With organic cotton bed linen, tasselled cushions, printed table lights, robes, floor mats and fresh fragrances, the collection is inspired by the Aboriginal culture and the Gumbaynggirr land that the pair live on.
Miimi and Jiinda’s Lauren Jarrett and Melissa Greenwood with their Adairs range
“Our creations are works of cultural renewal, telling visual stories that reflect our unique perspective and distinctive experience as Aboriginal women,” says Melissa, who was raised with a strong focus on Indigenous culture by her mother Lauren, a victim of the stolen generation. Taken when she was just nine years old, Lauren returned to her family nine years later, determined to rediscover her roots.
“She had to relearn the culture and was determined to raise us children culturally strong,” says Melissa, who was educated in weaving, painting and the local language by her proud mother, setting the scene for what was to come.
Such a gorgeous colour palette!
“Miimi and Jiinda began because I really wanted to build Mum’s confidence and give her a platform to share her gifts with the world. My passion to see my mother feel valued and build self confidence played a big role in this,” says Melissa.
“I am very passionate about reviving our culture, as well as being able to express my love and appreciation for my identity as an Aboriginal woman. When I create artworks, I feel a deep sense of connection to my ancestors,” says Melissa, who is responsible for the brand’s bright, bold and contemporary artworks while her mother is a master weaver.
“Mum has been painting and weaving most of her life, particularly with woven baskets and sculptures. This has inspired me to do the same and she has taught me so much,” says Melissa who explains that the decision to collaborate with Adairs was an easy one.
“As our business expands, we feel collaborations of this nature are the perfect way to showcase our art to a wider demographic. We have enjoyed exploring ways to project our art into the broader homewares space,” says Melissa.
The Adairs collaboration has been designed with both men and women in mind. “The deeper rich earthy tones represent masculinity and their grounded energy. On the other hand, the brighter, more bold colours are very soft and feminine but also strong and empowered, representing the matriarch. The collection holds a deep respect for land, culture and our elders.”

The first ever Disney Princess x Adairs Kids collaboration will be dancing into stores next week and if we’re not wrong, it’ll be flying off shelves!
“Led by the Adairs Kids team’s penchant for designing products that create beautiful spaces, our collaborations embrace the magical worlds of cherished characters; to create collections that are exciting and fun for children and adults alike.

For generations, Disney’s princesses have continued to inspire children and adults alike with their courage, kindness, and fearless imagination. The Adairs Kids team, in collaboration with Disney, have reimagined the Disney Princess worlds for your home, with a whimsical 12-piece collection.
The hero is the bedlinen, which features all the princesses and their castles. It’s complemented by wall art of each princess, to allow little ones to choose their favourite.

The princesses have been re-drawn with dreamy pastel watercolours, which should please those parents who try and avoid more primary colour schemes in their homes (no judgment here!).

I can’t remember Adairs ever collaborating with a male designer (can you?) which is what makes its latest partnership with renowned Australian furniture designer Mark Tuckey all the more special. A more masculine foray for the home brand, the collection is brimming with the designer’s stylishly simple furniture staples alongside earthy bed linen, soft furnishings and homewares.
The channel quilted grey quilt cover is shown here with an array of accessories from the range
The collection’s autumnal colour palette features slate grey, deep navy and burnt orange and there’s plenty of natural fibres with linen yarn and organic cotton featured too. The collection is a fabulous way to buy into the Mark Tuckey brand without breaking the bank.
We love this slatted oak bedside table
The furniture line-up includes a headboard and bedside table featuring a simple slat design crafted from solid European oak. The Boston shelving is a collection highlight; it’s beautiful in its simplicity and, from the bedroom to the lounge room, would have multiple uses.

Linen cushions with contrast trim are an enduring classic
The ‘Horizon’ canvas comes in two colour ways (blue or terracotta) and, housed in tinted concrete containers, the collection also includes stylish diffusers and candles with driftwood and sandalwood scents.

The collection also includes a lovely kids range including polka dotted organic bedlinen (made from soft organic cotton), with oatmeal and clay tones on the reverse. Pantone’s much-anticipated 2020 Colour of the Year was revealed a few days ago, and I’ll admit to finding it a bit underwhelming at first – it certainly pales next to last year’s vibrant and inspiring shade. But while the colour does have an almost corporate feel, there’s no denying the enduring appeal of blue – what better hue is there to provide comfort through uncertain times?
“We are living in a time that requires trust and faith. It is this kind of constancy and confidence that is expressed by Pantone Classic Blue, a solid and dependable blue hue we can always rely on. A boundless blue evocative of the vast and infinite evening sky, Classic Blue encourages us to look beyond the obvious to expand our thinking,” says Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of The Pantone Color Institute.
Annie Sloan ‘Napoleonic Blue’ paint: Taking inspiration from Pantone’s Classic Blue, Annie Sloan’s ‘Napoleonic Blue’ is reminiscent of the ultramarine and cobalt blue pigments used in neoclassical interiors.
“Blue is one of my favourite colours, especially in interiors, because of its calming, recessive qualities. I’m so glad Pantone have chosen to highlight this blue for 2020, as I think we all need a little calm and tranquility for the coming year!” says Annie Sloan.
Artistudio ‘Botanicals 1’ limited edition print: Artist Arti Shah combines her background in graphic design, painting and photography to create her unique works. I love this gorgeous, moody blue floral. From $395 (unframed)
Adairs Home Republic Vespa denim blue pot: Useful as a place to store knick-knacks or your favourite plant, the textured finish is the best thing about this pot. $19.99.
Fenton & Fenton Lapis Lazuli tray: Made from Lapis Lazuli (which usually exhibits a varied but deep, celestial blue), this is one statement making tray. $310.
Globewest Theodore Louis occasional chair: Merging classic French style with Art Deco details, this velvet chair has a tufted back and brass-tipped tapered legs. It’s the perfect blue accent piece. $1605.
Based on Adelaide’s beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula, artist Dana Kinter’s unique take on Australiana has seen her forge quite the following, and with that, several high-profile collaborations. Off the back of a successful partnership with Gorman (Dana designed many prints for the fashion brand’s winter 2019 collection), she’s just launched a lovely, sustainable collection with Adairs that includes bedlinen, table lights, accessories, cushions and more.
Dana’s ‘Wattletree’ design features eucalyptus and wattle on a contrasting blue background
Filled to the brim with motifs and moods inspired by the native flora and fauna of the Fleurieu Peninsula, the range’s includes eucalyptus, proteas, wattles and finches. But the eco-focus of the collection extends beyond pretty prints – it was made with sustainable principles in mind too.
The joyful ‘Protea’ design is a celebration of the artist’s distinctive painting style
“It is such a job to be a part of this Adairs collaboration. I am overwhelmed with the commitment and passion to create this beautiful collection, not only in designing a range that sings to my love of the natural world and aesthetic but a whole rounded dedication that also focuses on the environment and sustainability,” says Dana.
We love this gorgeous, painterly kookaburra emblazoned linen cushion
The bed linen is made from certified organic cotton, the cushions are made from certified organic linen, and both have been filled with sustainable material using recycled plastic bottles. Each bedlinen set is packed in a Dana Kinter printed, self-fabric, reusable tote bag too, eliminating plastic entirely.
Bedding and cushions aside, the range also includes serving ware pieces made from mango wood and finished with enamel gloss, that make Dana’s artworks really pop. Dana’s designs are also printed onto linen and made into lamp shades, paired with solid timber bases.

Fleur Harris X Adairs Kids 'Springtime' range. Image courtesy of Adairs.
You may already be familiar with Melbourne artist Fleur Harris via her stunning ‘Woodlands’ wallpaper available through Jimmy Cricket. In it, a whimsical menagerie of forest animals (deer, foxes, racoons, squirrels, owls and bunnies) all peer out from behind lush foliage in the design that is now hanging in hundreds of homes across the globe. “Those artworks have very intricate pattern repeats and they took a long time to make so it’s wonderful to see them putting smiles on children’s faces everywhere from America to Russia, Poland and the UK,” says Fleur.
This child’s room features Fleur’s ‘Woodlands’ wallpaper. Image by @cleverpoppy
Working with oil paints and digital software to create her artworks, Fleur’s subject matter centres largely around nature – especially flowers, foliage and animals. “My artworks are often highly detailed; I spend a huge amount of time on them. I always put a lot of time into each artwork, I come back to them to perfect them, I don’t let them go out into the world until they are just right. Each artwork is a true labour of love,” says Fleur.
And with gorgeous colour palettes another notable feature of the artist’s work, it doesn’t surprise me that a lot of work goes into their selection. “Colour plays a large role. I spend a lot of time refining my colour palettes and it’s a crucial detail,” says Fleur.
Fleur in her studio. Image: Dave LePage
While formally trained in fine arts, interior design and illustration, Fleur isn’t that keen to define herself as one thing or another – she describes herself as an artist, product designer and creative thinker. “My work doesn’t fit neatly into one little box or category. I’ve worked with brands to create all sorts of wonderful things; wallpapers, children’s bedding, dinnerware – it’s a long list,” says Fleur who welcomed her son a couple of years ago and juggles her work commitments around him.
Perhaps one of her most high-profile collaborations, Fleur started working with Adairs last year – her first children’s range was a sell out and her fourth range has just been released in Australia and New Zealand. Titled ‘Springtime,’ it’s as fresh and pretty as its name suggests. “I adore this time of year, when nature awakens and begins to buzz with life,” says Fleur. The collection includes a quilt cover and sheet set (in sizes from cot to king), as well as wall art, a play tent and special separate unicorn themed pillowcase. The violet and green combination is glorious.

“Kids’ bedrooms can be a sanctuary, a safe space of their own where they sleep and play and dream. These collections are forming a backdrop to the childhood memories they’re creating. I’m very mindful of this when designing these ranges,” says Fleur.

Collaborations aside, Fleur has also been very busy working on a series of oil paintings and illustrations, all of which are available as ready-to-hang framed prints on canvas. “I’ve been asked many times over if I will ever sell prints of my paintings so it’s great to be able to offer my artworks in that format now,” says Fleur.
‘Blue Posey’ framed, open edition print on canvas. From $420.
A series of still life images, the works feature flowers and foliage on dark backgrounds and Fleur is particularly excited about the range of sizes they are available in. “I worked with an incredible photographer in Melbourne to digitally capture all my paintings, so I could reproduce them in a range of sizes, some much bigger than the original. I love big statement artworks, so it was important to me to offer them in larger sizes.”
‘Night Garden II’ framed, open edition print on canvas. From $420.
It’s an unlikely hue to claim top-dog status but suddenly it seems like mustard is everywhere! Adairs Home Republic Newport quilted velvet bedlinen in peacock
I don’t know about you but it seems that wherever I look at the minute there’s a safari animal. A feline lover from way back (my wardrobe has more leopard print options than I’d care to admit), I’m particularly taken with all the leopards, lions and tigers currently adorning clothing (particularly children’s) and homewares but I’m also loving the zebra and elephant motifs too. And it seems that Adairs is getting in on the act with its spring 2018 range that sees safari animals, leafy greenery and rattan take centre stage.
The Adairs Home Republic Zari quilt cover set features a cheetah print
There’s a distinct colonial vibe present in the collection too with lots of beautiful rattan and woven furniture alongside textured quilt covers, tufted wall hangings and a palette of bright green and earthy colours.
Miscellaneous furniture from the Adairs Spring 2018 collection
The collection’s bedding features tasseled and hand-woven elements for a beautifully bohemian, world-traveller vibe while cushions and throws are bright and bold and feature tufted details.

The Home Republic Newport quilted velvet bedlinen in peacock (below) is more typical Adairs fare but I had to include it because I think it’s super lush. It is available in a gorgeous pale seafoam colour too.

Rattan is certainly the star of the range’s home decor and furniture offering. With rattan a key forecast trend for spring and summer, it makes sense that the collection includes woven rattan chairs, bedheads, mirrors and pet accessories.
In what may be the most whimsical collaboration of Spring 2018, Adairs Kids has joined forces with the talented artist Fleur Harris to create a magical collection for little girls.
Fleur is a multi-disciplinary artist and creative from Melbourne. Educated in Fine Arts and armed with years of experience designing for fashion and lifestyle brands globally, her illustrations for Adairs Kids demonstrate her passion for design and her talent for illustration and painting.
“Inspired by the magic of childhood, adventure, imagination and my love for the natural world, I’ve weaved stunning birds, animals, orals and foliage into these beautiful artworks,” says Fleur. “This timeless collection will spark wonder and delight in the hearts and minds of both little and big people alike.”
The magical collection includes a beautiful printed sheet set and matching bedlinen with a contrasting print made from a soft textured cotton, both available in sizes cot to queen.
There are also two bespoke artworks in equally enchanted prints; dream and wish, and a gorgeously illustrated teepee in a natural coloured material with a vintage-inspired woodland print.
