Sack Me!’s sold out kids bedding is back – with new twists!

If you like your child’s room to be bold, graphic and fun, you were probably all over the circus-inspired ‘To Carnival We Go’ collection from Sack Me! released earlier this year.

“The piece we’re most excited about though is the addition of a third ice cream flavour on our best selling ‘Sunday Sundae’ quilt cover. We’ve been inundated with enquiries for this cover since it sold our last year and the new one won’t disappoint,” says Li-Ann.

Triple SundaeWith an original take on the foodie art theme, the brand is a natural fit for stylish mums seeking something a little outside the box. “We have a pretty niche offering and we’re not the cheapest kids bedding around but through Instagram and the support of bloggers, we’ve grown a very loyal fan base of savvy mums looking for something their kids will love that’s also stylish and great quality,” adds Li-Ann.

Kip & Co’s limited edition Art Series Beanbag collection

As lovers of their local art scene, the girls behind lifestyle brand Kip & Co decided it was high time to shine a light on the talented artists they had been crushing on.

[contextly_sidebar id=”NqB5OizWhvb7RRfk1KSByrub0RsqPONj”]Asking all budding arty-types to send in their own design for their chance to win a Kip & Co prize pack and, more importantly, see their print as part of a limited edition Art Series Beanbag collection, hundreds of entries began pouring in. “We spent hours drooling over the weird, wild and wonderful creative minds out there” explains Kip & Co co-founder Alex van der Sluys. “It’s made us even more pumped about the depth of talent both local and global – a serious smorgasboard of arty goodness!”

Narrowing the hundreds down to four, today Kip & Co introduce their first ever Art Series Beanbag collection, featuring the work of Letitia Green, Devinder, Mr Smudge and Rawaan.

Letitia Green, who has a background in design and illustration, combined traditional batik style influences and African inspired block print symbols of flora to create her beanbag, urban echo. A happy clash of chaos and rhythm; colour and line bounce playfully together to create an energetic and uplifting design.

Devinder, who after a break from fine arts is just getting back on the creative wagon, took guidance from fiber arts for her beanbag. With the piece beginning as a random simple line stitching on paper, Devinder had no plans in mind, before inspiration struck!

Mr Smudge, a surfer and graphic designer with a passion for illustration, based his beanbag print on the many characters he’s met through surfing; from surf crazy youth to surfboard salesmen.

Rawaan is an artist and writer from Dubai, who currently lives in Brooklyn, New York. A textile designer her winning print, Sticker Collection, was inspired by the sticker albums of her youth, full of a motley collection of all kinds of tiny precious stickers.
