Rebecca Judd releases her first nursery range for Adairs

The seemingly tireless Australian media personality and model Rebecca Judd has just added another string to her impressively long bow with the launch of her first nursery collection for Adairs. Given she is a mother to four children including newish twin boys Darcy and Tom, she was well placed to design the range.

“The aim of the range was to create a nursery space that looks effortlessly chic, where everything fits perfectly into place. When designing the collection, I drew inspiration from Scandinavian interiors and designs,” says Rebecca.

Jersey quilted pink swan cot quilt cover set, $129.99 and Framed wall art pink swan print, $29.99 (on wall)

An antidote to the often garish colour palettes found in children’s design, the limited edition collection features pastel blue, soft grey and peach. There’s fully reversible quilted bed linen designed with a sweet origami animal motif plus sheet sets and wall art too.

“What I really love about the new range is that you can easily find that perfect balance between serenity, style and personality. The colours aren’t overbearing with the inclusion of the lovely pastel pink and blue hues creating a relaxing neutral backdrop. This collection represents what I was looking for when styling my children’s nurseries,” says Rebecca.

Bamboo wraps pink swan (pack of two), $49.99

Designed to complement the bed linen, the collection also features bamboo swaddle wraps. Bamboo, in particular, is a fabulous material for babies given it’s not only soft and 100 per cent natural but it’s breathable too.

Jersey quilted blue bear cot quilt cover set, $129.99 and Framed wall art blue bear print, $29.99 (on wall)

Nursery walls won’t go unadorned either as the range also features two cute framed animal wall art pieces – a bear in Breton strips and a swan wearing a gold crown.

Rebecca Judd’s new Adairs range features stylish outdoor wares

Media personality and fashion/lifestyle blogger Rebecca Judd returns this month with a new collection for Adairs, just in time for summer. Launched under the retailer’s Home Republic brand, the range is a bright, sunny mix of bold prints, colour and some outdoor lovely pieces too. “I was definitely channeling summer vibes when I designed this range. Think bright sunny, happy colours and bold prints in linear styles. I was also inspired by my new favourite material of the moment – terrazzo,” says Rebecca.

“Think summer holidays, sipping pina coladas, bright coloured bathing boxes and shimmering sunsets across the bay. Check out the ‘Palm Cove’ quilt cover from my range and it pretty much sums this up!” says Rebecca of the vibrant colour palette.

While the Rebecca Judd Loves Home Republic ranges have been in production for a while now, this season sees the addition of a range of outdoor cushions and towels too. “I really wanted to create something perfect to style outdoor spaces with, but also pieces that would look just as good indoors. I love the new outdoor pieces and I designed them with my own outdoor area in mind. I feel my audience follow me because they like my personal style so if I design with my own home in mind it translates to them,” says Rebecca of the round velour towels and ‘Cancun’ cushions

“The outdoor cushions are made with a UV protected, outdoor material and are reversible meaning, just like my bedding range, you get two designs in the one piece. I’ve found it really hard to find nice outdoor cushions in the past so I made it my mission to create the perfect ones to suit any outdoor area as we had into the exciting outdoor summer entertaining period,” says Rebecca.

The limited-edition range also includes four reversible bed linen designs, as well as a complementary range of soft furnishings. “My range has always been about affordable yet contemporary and fashion forward design and we achieve this by creating fully reversible quilt covers so our customers get two complementary yet different designs for the price of one,” says Rebecca.

“The bedlinen was designed around the outdoor range with the idea of bringing that outdoor holiday summer vibe into the bedroom. Style and quality to me is really important, especially in the interior and outdoor living spaces. This collection is heavily focused on quality fabrics and finishes,” says Rebecca.

A look inside Rebecca Judd’s renovated home

When two extremely stylish women team up to renovate, you know you’re in for a treat; and the Mentone house, transformed by blogger, model and TV presenter Rebecca Judd — with the help of interiors stylist Julia Green — is truly spectacular.

BecJudd02

Once a small two-bedroom miner’s cottage in need of a full renovation (new kitchen, bathroom, garden… the works!), the home is now light and bright with a strong Scandi-inspired aesthetic.

BecJudd05

The living room is an automatic standout and a favourite of Rebecca’s, who played with scale, texture, height, art and accessories when styling the room. “When styling a living room it’s all about scale,” explains Rebecca. “Make sure the furniture and rug are the right size otherwise they can throw the dimensions of the room out. I also look at where the light is coming from and do we need to add more? Also, where are the bare walls? Can we fill them with art? This will dictate colour palettes. Lastly, the function of the room — will there be toddlers running around putting their hands on everything (choose a leather couch) or strictly adults only (choose luxe fabric!).”

BecJudd20

The bathroom and kitchen are also worthy of note, with the tiles (from Beaumont Tiles) adding a layer of luxury. “I definitely wanted to use marble and/or stone in a mosaic style — pure luxe,” says Rebecca. “Penny rounds (these were used in the kitchen) are timeless, classy and add a point of difference, plus increase the value of your home. I was ecstatic to find the white marble square mosaic tile in a 50x50mm size, which was exactly what I was looking for in the bathroom. I love that stone is slightly imperfect with rough edges and varying veins of colour. This softens a sterile bathroom environment, adds interest and is pure luxury.”

Choosing neutrals for the fixtures, fittings and finishes and adding interest through furniture and homewares was always Rebecca’s intention, believing when it comes time to sell it will be easier. However, that doesn’t mean the home is bland or boring, far from it! Rather, Rebecca put a lot of effort into the styling, focusing on proportions and colour. “People often buy pieces which are too small, so go for a bigger size, it will make the room feel bigger! When it comes to colour, choose one from your art (not the most obvious one) and use it in three items in the room whether it be in an accessory on the mantle piece, a cushion or an item of furniture. Use this chosen colour in your objects and dot them throughout the room so it takes your eye on a journey yet ties the room together.”

With the renovation now over, Rebecca has learnt some key lessons, and as we so often hear at Reno Addict her most important learning… stick to your budget! “I know it’s easier said than done, but by using good tradespeople and doing things properly you can ensure that you only need to pay for things once.”
