Interiors Addict mentioned in Abigail Ahern’s new book, along with many other Aussies!

(Okay, okay, I know I’m not as Aussie. Quite.)

So so SO excited! Was already excited when my preview copy of Abigail Ahern’s new book Decorating with Style arrived in the mail today. But then someone pointed out that my blog is mentioned in the directory at the back (alongside blogs like The Selby, The Design Files and Design*Sponge). I couldn’t believe it! I am such a HUGE fan of Abigail’s work I am truly honoured and flattered TO THE MAX! I will of course write a proper review of this gorgeous looking book once I’ve had the chance to get over my shock and give it a good read!

Excuse my star struck goofiness… Thank you so much Abigail!

On closer inspection, there are a LOT of Aussies credited in the Little Black Book at the back of this book, which is fantastic, especially as Abigail is from the UK!

As well as Interiors Addict, Aussie blogs mentioned include The Design Files, Daily Imprint and Desire to Inspire. Then there’s Sibella Court’s books Nomad, Etcetera and The Stylist’s Guide to NYC and Shannon Fricke’s Sense of Style, Colour & Space. Under magazines you’ll find Vogue Living, Belle, Real Living and Inside Out. Also getting a mention in the directory are Murobond paints, Melbourne’s Comer & King, and Sydney stores Doug Up on Bourke, Ice et la, Koskela and The Society Inc.

Go Aussie! Abigail clearly has fantastic taste!

Interiors Addict on the Decorex top 100 list

I was delighted to wake up to the news from the UK that I made it onto the #DECOREX100 list of top interior design Twitter influencers!

In the three weeks of the campaign, international interior design show Decorex received 3,300 tweets from the global interior design community, nominating almost 300 interior design Twitter influencers. The campaign reached more than 100,000 interior design professionals and enthusiasts. The #DECOREX100 list of the final top 100 influencers was curated by the Decorex International team, and features the most influential Twitter users including interior designers, design brands, stores and websites as well as industry organisations, bloggers and magazines.

Fellow Aussies (not that I am one, techincally, but whatever) who made it onto the list include Lucy Feagins of The Design Files, Rebecca Lowrey Boyd of Wee Birdy, Jo and Kim of Desire to Inspire (go the bloggers!) and Amanda Talbot. Some of my favourite international interiors blogs made it on too, including decor8, Bright.Bazaar, Happy Interior Blog and Apartment Therapy.

Decorex is being held at the Royal Hospital Chelsea, London, between 23-26 September 2012.

Kara Rosenlund’s new blog

Kara Rosenlund is awesome. If you don’t already know about her, you need to, so check out her new blog here immediately! The talented Brisbane-based stylist and props buyer (not to mention photographer) just had her divine home featured on The Design Files. Best of all (in my opinion), Kara has a Travelling Wares pop-up shop of vintage treasures in a gorgeous CARAVAN. That’s right! Frankie is a lovingly restored 1956 Franklin Caravan. You lucky Queenslanders can visit Frankie this Saturday (26 November 2011) at the Jan Power Farmers Markets at New Farm’s Powerhouse in Brisbane from 6am until 1pm. Jealous…
