Copper and marble still reign in latest Country Road homewares

Copper, timber and marble: it seems this winning combination of colours and textures is going nowhere fast in homewares. Country Road are certainly still confident of their longevity judging by their latest gorgeous homewares drop, in store and online from today (Friday).

It’s all about sophisticated simplicity this spring. A pared back aesthetic focuses on beautiful sculptural pieces and cool tones balanced with copper and natural textures of wood and marble. Geometric handmade items like decorative metal cubes add a graphic measure to the home.

Scandinavian-inspired folded wooden trays are elegant and functional. Dinnerware features in Airforce blue and is complemented by black gloss bakeware and sculptural copper-plated serving utensils. Striped napery with metallic foil tips and neon highlights bring about a spring mood.

Cushions and throws (surely one of the brand’s real strengths) add interest in modern prints and textures. Monochrome patterns mix with tonal patchwork, with black mesh cushions balanced by grey marle throws. Offering a ‘70s feel is deep indigo quilted denim, while woven knit throws and cushions in lemon, pale pink and dove tie the colour palette together.

In soft charcoal and sea tones, linen bedding is key as the weather warms. Fluoro stitching and trims liven muted tones and natural textures. Tactile white covers and tessellated sheet sets in lemon or grey make for perfect layering options.

For kids, colour and print take a vibrant and bold turn. Playful sheet sets are offered in spring yellow and patchwork print. Silhouetted animal patterns introduce fresh shades of deep green and raspberry. Hints of denim and grey marle act as a stylish, grounding complement to a spring-fresh mix of prints.

Country Road Home Autumn Winter 2015 collection

I love everything that Country Road have to offer and their new Home Autumn Winter 2015 collection doesn’t disappoint!

Offer modern updates for the home, the collection is simple yet sophisticated, with clean lines and graphic texture.

For the first time, they have added 100% linen to their bed linen collection, with soft pink and grey paired with yarn dyed stripes and gingham. Children’s linen also gets an update with fresh florals, gingham checks, star blankets and sweet knitted accessories for the girls and flannel checks in blues, pops of patchwork and a bear motif cushion for the boys.

The decorator range is all about understated luxury with rich textures and muted colours. A palette of pink, nude and black plays off rich marble and timber. Candles, mirrors, votives and frames are highlighted with hints of copper, plated gold and smoked glass. Pared back pieces like a marble clock and side tables in oak and black bring an easy sophistication.

Serving is expanded with the introduction of baking dishes and ramekins. Oversized salt and pepper grinders and stacked wooden boards play on scale and proportion. A circular marble board makes a bold graphic base for the Tapas dining range, updated in blue-grey and lemon yellow tones.

Cushions and throws are textural with bold geometric prints and tactile fabrications. Mohair cushions are perfect for lounging and add a luxe feel to winter simplicity. Monochrome shades are complemented by strong cobalt blues, yellows, gem greens and pinks. Throws are tweedy and textural and bring modern comfort to the home.

Country Road Home Spring Summer 2014 collections

This hallway mirror represents Country Road’s first foray into small furniture and there’s a rug (a hallway runner) too.

1

The latest new season collection is all kinds of fresh and pastel. Grey, lemon, mint and melon mix with natural textures, spliced fabrics, metallics and wood elements.

Overscaled weaves, woven chunky stripes, houndstooth and shag textures are found across cushions and throws. The oversized Pod cushion in grey jersey is perfect for lounging while mint is the new hue for bed linen, against monochrome grid patterns and herringbone prints or layered with soft pastels in oversized graphics. Throws are spliced with a mix of fabrics, geo prints and micro textures.

A woven monochrome floor runner makes a bold statement. Highlights of black and white reappear on hive-shaped vases and contrast tableware, serving trays and geo printed mugs. Grained marble rolling pins, serving boards and dip bowls add luxe to the table.

Glassware plays with proportion in tubular stemware and balloon-like vases and mugs are updated in grey, yellow and pink matte finishes.

Geometric vases are offered in brushed silver, as is new desk storage. Organic porcelain servingware is clean and fresh, dipped in silky white glaze. Woodgrain textures are the perfect accompaniment in cross-shaped coasters, vertically dipped photo frames, leaning ladder style racks and a large full body mirror. Wood is glazed with pops of bright colour across photo frames, servingware and decorative bowls.

Children’s bed linen packs a punch in soft pastel prints of birds, raindrops and butterflies for girls and graphic pear and cross prints for boys. Embroidered quilts layer with linen along with scatter cushions featuring patchwork pops of printed fabrics and fruit-shaped cushions.

I’m excited. What piece will you be rushing out to buy? First up for me will be the popular Britta cross trivet, now in marble.
