This month’s very deserving winner is @_fridays_child_ for her very chic series of images! She wins the beautiful bar car from our sponsor, Pottery Barn. I know I’m jealous!
Chantal Jesson, social media manager for Williams-Sonoma Australia, said: “Fast, fun and furious, the scope of shots that came through from this month’s #7vignettes were original and bang on trend. We loved playing along.
“Like Oliver Twist, we kept coming back for more from @_fridays_child – we’re hooked on her artfully curated flatlays, visually rich and we loved her natural riff off the daily themes.”
The overall runner up is @mozsas, who wins a $50 Pottery Barn giftcard.
If you’d like to get your hands on the Tristan bar cart, you can see more online or in store at Pottery Barn. A huge thanks to them for the great themes and prizes this month.
See you next month!
Winners should contact us with their mailing address and telephone number to claim their prizes.
The bar cart has never been so cool. Not only does it serve the obvious purpose of storing all your favourite drinks and associated cocktail-making and wine-pouring glassware and tools, it also looks seriously chic. We love the retro vibe of the bar cart, harking back to a time when people really made an occasion of stopping for a good drink. And the best news? You have a chance to win one in next month’s 7 Vignettes challenge, sponsored by our friends at Pottery Barn.
The Tristan Bar Cart, worth more than $500, would work well in almost any interior. We particularly love its round shape and neat compact size. Oh, and it’s hand finished in an antique brass colour. We can’t get enough of gold accents in the home.
So, get prepping for 1 August, when the challenge starts on Instagram, with the following prompts/themes. If you don’t know how it works, go here to find out more. As they say, you gotta be in it to win it!
The main overall prize is the bar cart, worth $534, and one runner-up will receive a $50 Pottery Barn voucher. There’s also seven daily theme prizes in the form of a small Malta Brass Lantern.
Pottery Barn has stores in Bondi and Chatswood in NSW, Perth in WA, Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley in QLD, Melbourne’s Chadstone in VIC and a Canberra outlet in the ACT. You can also shop online.
The winner of August 7 Vignettes as judged by our sponsor Officeworks is @emotivelightphoto. Congratulations! What a lovely series of images they were! While Sarah is a professional photographer it’s not a given that she’d be a styling whizz as well, so she is obviously multi-talented!
Sarah wins a $500 Officeworks voucher, many stationery lovers’ idea of heaven!
Officeworks’ Carla Carafa said: “We loved working with Interiors Addict on #7Vignettes. The daily themes tied in perfectly with our brand and we were overwhelmed with what the followers came up with.”
It was such a great week and so nice to be back after a break in July. If you haven’t seen our new guidelines and how-to for the competition, please have a read here.
We had some great daily theme winners too, who all get Moleskine notebooks. Here are just a few of them:

Copper, timber and marble: it seems this winning combination of colours and textures is going nowhere fast in homewares. Country Road are certainly still confident of their longevity judging by their latest gorgeous homewares drop, in store and online from today (Friday).
It’s all about sophisticated simplicity this spring. A pared back aesthetic focuses on beautiful sculptural pieces and cool tones balanced with copper and natural textures of wood and marble. Geometric handmade items like decorative metal cubes add a graphic measure to the home.
Scandinavian-inspired folded wooden trays are elegant and functional. Dinnerware features in Airforce blue and is complemented by black gloss bakeware and sculptural copper-plated serving utensils. Striped napery with metallic foil tips and neon highlights bring about a spring mood.
Cushions and throws (surely one of the brand’s real strengths) add interest in modern prints and textures. Monochrome patterns mix with tonal patchwork, with black mesh cushions balanced by grey marle throws. Offering a ‘70s feel is deep indigo quilted denim, while woven knit throws and cushions in lemon, pale pink and dove tie the colour palette together.
In soft charcoal and sea tones, linen bedding is key as the weather warms. Fluoro stitching and trims liven muted tones and natural textures. Tactile white covers and tessellated sheet sets in lemon or grey make for perfect layering options.
For kids, colour and print take a vibrant and bold turn. Playful sheet sets are offered in spring yellow and patchwork print. Silhouetted animal patterns introduce fresh shades of deep green and raspberry. Hints of denim and grey marle act as a stylish, grounding complement to a spring-fresh mix of prints.
We hope you’re all rested and raring to go after last month’s little holiday from 7 Vignettes (its first in more than two years!). Please take a read of our new guidelines. While we haven’t made any major changes to the monthly challenge we hope we have spelled out how to take part, what’s allowed and what’s not a little clearer. If you have feedback, you can always contact us.
Next month, Officeworks are our guest judge and sponsor, providing a generous $500 voucher for the overall winner and daily theme prizes of a set of three Moleskine Cahier Large Plain Notebooks. Hoorah! “Officeworks is all about supporting big ideas, so we love following #7vignettes on Instagram with Interiors Addict,” a spokesman said. “We can’t wait to be inspired by your creativity with this month’s challenge!”
Here are some Officeworks products you might like to spend your voucher on if you win…
So next month, please tag @interiorsaddict and @officeworks. Happy prepping and I look forward to seeing you all on Instagram again next Saturday 1 August!

Just one week today, it will be time for another round of our fun Instagram styling challenge 7 Vignettes and this month, West Elm are on board to celebrate the upcoming opening of their new Chatswood Chase store in Sydney. As a north-of-the-bridge girl, I’m pretty excited about this! Here are the themes for those of you who like to get prepared in advance! This round, the winner gets a $300 West Elm voucher to be spent in store or online.
Our guest judge is Williams Sonoma Australia’s social media manager, Chantal Brady. Make sure you tag her @westelmaus and us @interiorsaddict and use the hashtag #7vignettes. All the basics on how to take part can be found here.
In other exciting news, we are so close to reaching 40,000 images shared on the hastag that I’m confident it could happen this round. Exciting!
Oh, what a wonderful eighth round of 7 Vignettes it was! and I’m delighted to announce the overall winner and 10 runners up, as judged by Alexandra Kentmann from Freedom.
The first prize, of a chevron Freedom chair, goes to professional organiser Sarah Shanahan, from Adelaide. Alexandra said: “I have a real weakness for colour, bright hits of colour woo me every time. Plus Sarah’s shots have a real authenticity which I find appealing. Plus the vignette including her children’s works; well that gave me a cute attack, and pretty well sealed the deal.”
Remember the fabulous Style Lab launched at Life Instyle Sydney with Jane Frosh and Lucy Weight from Cool Edie’s? Well it’s back for the Melbourne fair and Julia Green and Jacqui Moore from Greenhouse Interiors will be the stylists doing the honours. Exciting!
Style Lab explores the elements of style and creativity through a series of changing scenes, designed and created live each morning of the August event. Julia and Jacqui will create a different theme each day, allowing visitors to witness the creation of a real life photographic studio set, using exhibitor products and industry trends to build and grow a concept on the spot.
