If you know Rachel Castle of Castle & Things’ work, you’ll know she creates colourful, fun (and pleasingly white-based) linen and pieces that become cult must-haves within weeks.

Remember Put The Love In the Coconut? Thought so! The latest tutti frutti collection is no exception. Just perfect for summer. It comes with a warning though: it may make you want dance like THIS…

Now you’re feeling all happy and giddy, check out the rest of the collection. I’m really stoked there’s polkadots involved on the quilt covers this time. I’m just dotty for spots.

Kip & Co’s new bed linen range is inspired by the dappled light of summer. Win some!

Melbourne’s boutique bedding company Kip & Co, has launched its latest collection, Dappled Dreams, adding towels and rugs to complement its linen for adults and kids.

It’s a celebration of summers gone and the possibilities of summers to come – dappled light and warm nights, radio crackling, beach swims, salty skin, friendships made, gold and braid.

We wanted to create a relaxed range that conveyed that sense of freedom you get over a long coastal summer,” said co-founder Hayley Pannekoecke.

The range features Kip’s first collaboration with Obus founder, Kylie Zerbst. Kylie’s energy and independence found a kindred spirit one summer with Kip’s Kate Heppell, and together they began a long and fierce friendship.

Chevron’s going nowhere in AURA’s latest colourful collection

There’s a reason that trends stick around and that’s because they just work. Chevron is one of these. People keep asking me isn’t chevron “over” yet and no, it isn’t, because everyone loves it! AURA obviously agree, because there’s plenty of that old zigzag favourite in their latest colourful collection for summer, released this week.

If you love colour, this one’s for you. I particularly like the mix of neutral natural fibres like linen and cotton with the bright patterns and accents. Choose a lot of colour or the odd pop, depending on your taste. Choose from crochet, oversized chevron, spots, dipped and plain styles.

Simple is best: ticking stripe sheets from AURA

I happen to think you can’t go wrong with simple and classic things when it comes to Manchester: plain French linen, crisp cotton sheets and white waffle quilts for example.  These new ticking stripe sheet sets from AURA have such a lovely old school look about them, don’t you think?

Available in a variety of colours you could easily mix and match them with whites or contrasting plain or patterned coordinates.

Sunny new homewares from Country Road

Country Road can do no wrong when it comes to homewares lately and the latest summer collection is no exception.

I’m happy to see that, following on from the last range, there’s still plenty of yellow. And how gorgeous and versatile is this grey and white quilt? There’s a soft grey and pastel yellow knitted throw that’s rather lovely too.

From hatred to love in one weekend: My spare room transformation

I know, I know, the title of this post sounds terribly melodramatic, but it’s a true reflection. I really HATED our spare room until the weekend. It upset me because it’s too small, too narrow, has built-ins I don’t really need but can’t remove (renting), a view of the house next-door and no redeeming features whatsoever. We have lived in our apartment almost a year and the spare room has been the bane of my life, particularly as I’m uber house proud, love socialising and having friends to stay. BUT… look what happened!

When Freedom offered me a $500 voucher to fix a problem in my home and blog about the experience, it was glaringly obvious that I had to give the spare room a go, especially as my dad is due to arrive from the UK in a fortnight. And look what I have managed to create. Can this really be that room that made me want to cry (I think it was hormones) because it was so ugly and useless?

Interiors Addict talks bed linen with KAS Australia’s creative director, Ben David

Started by his parents (Karen and Steve, hence the name, no really!) in 1976, the KAS business has always been in Ben David’s genes. “My parents taught me textile design and fabric from a very early age,” he says. “In my late teens I wanted to see the world and worked in Selfridges in London for a couple of years. After enough experience working for other bed linen concessions I came back and started working for Kas while I studied graphic design and marketing.”

What’s your own bed linen style?

I choose something that is bold and enriched with colour. I prefer colours that have a masculine rich colour palette with a hint of black to make it elegant.

What are your tips for a well-made bed?

Call me old fashioned but I do love a neat symmetrical bed. I do like to have 2 of each cushion on the bed to create a grand look. I like tucking my corners in and have a comforter at the end.

Is kantha the next big thing in bed linen?

I’ve seen kantha popping up a few places lately. Could it be the new patchwork or ikat for beds? Laura Hanks-Ruttyn thinks so.
