Country Road Home Autumn Winter 2015 collection

I love everything that Country Road have to offer and their new Home Autumn Winter 2015 collection doesn’t disappoint!

Offer modern updates for the home, the collection is simple yet sophisticated, with clean lines and graphic texture.

For the first time, they have added 100% linen to their bed linen collection, with soft pink and grey paired with yarn dyed stripes and gingham. Children’s linen also gets an update with fresh florals, gingham checks, star blankets and sweet knitted accessories for the girls and flannel checks in blues, pops of patchwork and a bear motif cushion for the boys.

The decorator range is all about understated luxury with rich textures and muted colours. A palette of pink, nude and black plays off rich marble and timber. Candles, mirrors, votives and frames are highlighted with hints of copper, plated gold and smoked glass. Pared back pieces like a marble clock and side tables in oak and black bring an easy sophistication.

Serving is expanded with the introduction of baking dishes and ramekins. Oversized salt and pepper grinders and stacked wooden boards play on scale and proportion. A circular marble board makes a bold graphic base for the Tapas dining range, updated in blue-grey and lemon yellow tones.

Cushions and throws are textural with bold geometric prints and tactile fabrications. Mohair cushions are perfect for lounging and add a luxe feel to winter simplicity. Monochrome shades are complemented by strong cobalt blues, yellows, gem greens and pinks. Throws are tweedy and textural and bring modern comfort to the home.

Country Road’s 40th anniversary homewares collection

In my mind, Country Road can do no wrong and their High Summer home campaign is no exception!

140808_CR_Summer0027

Just launched, the collection celebrates Country Road’s 40th anniversary and features a modern summery look, accompanied by some of their updated classics. Think gingham check in crisp monochrome tones, played off with pastel pinks and natural elements; perfect for both indoors and out.

The art of celebrating is the focus of the collection, both of celebrating their anniversary as well as the impending festive season. There’s chopping boards that double as serving platters, beautifully hued Melamine serving pieces, timber and glass canisters, outdoor mats, monotone floor cushions and scented candles all perfect for holiday entertaining.

Meanwhile, the beach is still front of mind. A colourful range of towels, geo printed with pops of bright and pastel hues and the iconic 40th birthday beach towel, all make for perfect gifts.

Country Road collaborates with the designers of tomorrow

Collaborating for the seventh year in a row for their annual Window Project, Country Road has asked students from the visual merchandising program at RMIT University to design and implement a series of window displays at their flagship South Yarra store.

RMIT Windows-31

Celebrating Country Road’s milestone 40th birthday, this year’s project focuses on the brand’s iconic and most loved products, including a new take on their classic duffel bag, the cult men’s chino and everyone’s favourite tea towel in a wide selection of colours.

RMIT Windows-30

Students work to a real-life brief, which includes considerations such as using sustainable materials, and draw inspiration from Country Road’s brand identity and seasonal themes to develop and work through concepts; take feedback and direction from the Country Road team; liaise with suppliers; and finally install the window concept.

RMIT Windows-20

The Window Project, which launched at the beginning of this week will be on display for four weeks at Country Road, 252 Toorak Road, South Yarra.

Country Road Home Spring Summer 2014 collections

This hallway mirror represents Country Road’s first foray into small furniture and there’s a rug (a hallway runner) too.

1

The latest new season collection is all kinds of fresh and pastel. Grey, lemon, mint and melon mix with natural textures, spliced fabrics, metallics and wood elements.

Overscaled weaves, woven chunky stripes, houndstooth and shag textures are found across cushions and throws. The oversized Pod cushion in grey jersey is perfect for lounging while mint is the new hue for bed linen, against monochrome grid patterns and herringbone prints or layered with soft pastels in oversized graphics. Throws are spliced with a mix of fabrics, geo prints and micro textures.

5

A woven monochrome floor runner makes a bold statement. Highlights of black and white reappear on hive-shaped vases and contrast tableware, serving trays and geo printed mugs. Grained marble rolling pins, serving boards and dip bowls add luxe to the table.

3

Glassware plays with proportion in tubular stemware and balloon-like vases and mugs are updated in grey, yellow and pink matte finishes.

Geometric vases are offered in brushed silver, as is new desk storage. Organic porcelain servingware is clean and fresh, dipped in silky white glaze. Woodgrain textures are the perfect accompaniment in cross-shaped coasters, vertically dipped photo frames, leaning ladder style racks and a large full body mirror. Wood is glazed with pops of bright colour across photo frames, servingware and decorative bowls.

Children’s bed linen packs a punch in soft pastel prints of birds, raindrops and butterflies for girls and graphic pear and cross prints for boys. Embroidered quilts layer with linen along with scatter cushions featuring patchwork pops of printed fabrics and fruit-shaped cushions.

I’m excited. What piece will you be rushing out to buy? First up for me will be the popular Britta cross trivet, now in marble.

Country Road Home autumn/winter 2014

Country Road Home’s autumn/winter 2014 range offers a graphic and minimalist collection for a modern update to your home.

CROAD dec13_274

Dining pieces play on scale and proportion and soft statement colour will add interest to table settings. A large grey Italian made ceramic bowl is a statement for the season, and works beautifully layered with natural wooden boards, a milky white dining setting and geometric accessories. Black marble platters will add luxe to your table but work for everyday as a graphic base for the Tapas dining range, updated in soft pink.

Country Road’s new desk accessories are gold

One of the many benefits of working from home, is having your pick of pretty desk accessories rather than the standard corporate and practical choices. There’s definitely nothing dull about Country Road’s gorgeous new homewares in this department.

country road desk

When I previewed them some months back, your reaction on Instagram suggested you loved them as much as I did, especially the gold items (if you’re taking any of these babies into a shared office, you may want to make sure you write your name on them somewhere). The good news is, it’s all now available to buy in store and online.

My favourites are the gold Dakota scissors ($14.99), Kala pen holder ($39.95) Kala letter stand ($49.95) and Mio brass paperweight ($24.95). The perspex choices are also great, practical, and will go with anything.

Ex Country Road stylist starts online homewares store Sage and Clare

Phoebe Bell threw in her job as a stylist for Country Road to pursue her dream of an online homewares store with an emphasis on the handmade, bohemian and artisanal.

Soft Furnishings 10 (20)

I already want half the things she’s selling, and when they’re as beautifully styled and photographed as this, it’s very easy to buy into the look! The store is only a week old, so my advice is to get in quick before everyone wants one of everything!

Lookbook S x C - Version 2 (5)

With a small stash of savings and partner Chris’s support, Phoebe headed for India, where she designed and collected homewares and accessories to start Sage and Clare.

The 10-week program kicks off with a briefing session for the students at the Country Road head office and asks the students to design and implement a series of windows showcasing the homewares range, to be displayed at the brand’s flagship store in South Yarra. Over the next 10 weeks the students work to a real life brief – developing and working through concepts, taking feedback and direction from the Country Road team, liaising with suppliers and finally installing the window concepts.

Country Road’s new winter homewares

Take a look at this sneak peek of Country Road’s new winter homewares, due in store next week.

The brights of last season have been replaced with an altogether more muted colour pallette that sees pops of soft pastels and a touch of yellow, grounded with plenty of black, grey and white. I love it.

Sunny new homewares from Country Road

Country Road can do no wrong when it comes to homewares lately and the latest summer collection is no exception.

I’m happy to see that, following on from the last range, there’s still plenty of yellow. And how gorgeous and versatile is this grey and white quilt? There’s a soft grey and pastel yellow knitted throw that’s rather lovely too.

Brighten up your home with Country Road’s new Spring collection

Spring is in the air. Ok, it’s still decidedly chilly but work with me here. Wishful thinking! The latest Country Road homewares have just hit stores and they’re zesty and beautiful.

Isn’t this yellow chevron throw ($199) to die for? I’d love to see it used with the grey cushions (from $39.95 each) above. Grey is going nowhere. If there is such thing as a new black, it’s grey! If you love yellow too, check out the yellow and white broad striped Stevie bed linen while you’re in store.
